Kurtz is showing a large poster of the blackberry screen warning that information will be permanently erased.

Det Young said he followed instructions from an ATT rep and put in the wrong pw 10 times and in doing so he gets to a screen that clearly indicates under no uncertain terms:
last attempt-infomration will be erased.
Hard to imagine a detective would bypass this screen when holding evidence in a homicide case.
Prior to getting to this point NCPD got a letter saying you have digital evidence on a Blackberry that can be destroyed-handle with care.
But Young proceeded past that screen and deleted vital information.
SIM card also wiped.-same process used and manually erased the SIM card.

Kurtz: Things that didn't support Cary police's theory were ignored, obscured, destroyed and withheld. #coopertrial

Kurtz: Detective Young's actions did not delete the SIM card. No explanation for the SIM card deletion.

Sim card also completely wiped. Young has no explanation for how all data on sim card was erased. Levitan said same process is required to manually erase sim card. Levitan said couldn't have happened at the time Young said it did.

Kurtz: No other plausable explanation for the complete wipe of the blackberry other than intentionally destroying the evidence.

I have never watched a trial where the whole defense was based on everyone was against the defendant...usually the defense has something!

Kurtz: Cary police detective wiped info off Nancy's cellphone & her SIM card. No explanation for why SIM card was wiped. #coopertrial

Kurtz: Detective Young would have you believe, even though he owns a blackberry, that he doesn't know what a SIM card is.

This is almost identical to his opening.

RE-RUN!

Well he has to adjust some things like...

Opening: CH was positive he saw NC jogging, van w/2 hispanic males turn around to follow her

Closing: One witness was 90% sure he saw NC jogging 2 1/2 yrs ago, and still is today.

No photographs taken of scratch marks, hay in foyer, shoes under stairs.
Routers in home not tested
Network logs not checked.

Has Brad said "He is looking for the real killer"

Kurtz: they never pulled Nancy's FB page

(oh yeah with her whole 2 friends) waste...huge waste!!!!!

Boy, just from this view point, the investigation looks bad.:(

JMHO

90% sure on a drive by ID...I can't by that..specially if the guy was running late to work..he was probably drinking his coffee and talking on the phone imo

Kurtz: Detectives said they saw scratch marks on Brad's neck, but they never took any photos. #coopertrial

Has Brad said "He is looking for the real killer"

He's probably going to do that at each and every upcoming ironman event, much like O.J. searching golf-courses across the country.

And all of those mistakes? Benefited the DEFENDANT!

Had CPD collected the haystraw and tested it, maybe it would have given a match to Fielding Dr.

Had CPD taken pictures of scratches on BC neck and bandaid on finger, the jury would look at that and think, "hmmmm....that doesn't look so innocent."

Those mistakes and many others, help Brad Cooper!
