Suspect - Daniel Heinrich #2

There was a former poster on here from the area that complained because he was arrested for a crime by the Sheriff, was it?

So how can a person be arrested with not enough evidence? It sounds like they did not have enough on Heinrich and it appears he did not do new crimes except for his *advertiser censored* and of course the arson.

I hope so,

I know hindsight is 20/20

It's also so very easy to point fingers when on the outside, looking in.

Having said that, 2 plus decades, is such a long time. I can't imagine how this time has passed for the Wetterlings. Without their precious Jacob.:anguish:

It WAS a very different time, I remind myself of this often.

This Heinrich HAD to have been either extremely careful, or had a seemingly good handle on his " impulse" control issues...JMO
Once LE plays their final card you will see noone else could have done it better. You will see that the concerns people have raised were well aware by LE all along.

Agree

Heinrich is a predator. Chances were, this was not the first time he had scouted the area no matter how isolated it seemed.

He seemed to have made it his " life's work " to know where children would be hanging out, or going to and from.
It was getting dark/dark. Light clothes, flashlights, bike/scooter reflectors may have played a part in making the boys noticeable, not to mention there were THREE of them. Not exactly a quiet walk I bet!

According to recent reports posted here on WS, I also think DR saw Heinrich hunting earlier this same date. DR himself said someone drove in earlier and turned around. The second time, DR heard the dog and saw headlights, looked and did see what appeared to be a man driving, along with a woman or child in the passenger seat, couldn't tell.

Anyway, I truly believe DR witnessed poor Jacob being driven away that night =( JMO
1. Heinrich is one of the cars that passed the boys on the way to the store.

2. Heinrich is in the tom thumb area as the boys approach and guessed where they came from.

Maybe,

but honestly when I think about it, where else would three boys be going, on a weekend night near dark/dark, in this area?
Or perhaps he had seen the Thumb was a kid hangout in the past?
The guessing where they came from does not work for me. Too many other houses on the way closer to the Thumb.

And if he passed them on the way, why would he think they are going to the Thumb? Maybe he passed them and was in the parking lot and saw them come? That is a while in the parking lot though

Yes, but look at the map of where they lived. There were houses closer together and then nothing for a long way. Why would he think they are going as far as they are?

Why would he hang out on a farm that has zero children ( the Rassier farm?)

I doubt if there was an afternoone car that would come back to a farm with zero children

What does everyone think? Are they going to get Heinrich for this, or will he walk and we will never know what happened to Jacob.

There has to be a way to force him to talk. It's too bad that criminals have so many rights. I wish they could just waterboard him and make him spill the beans.

No thanks.

Alice More: Arrest him!
More: Why, what has he done?
Margaret More: He's bad!
More: There is no law against that.
Will Roper: There is! God's law!
More: Then God can arrest him.
Alice: While you talk, he's gone!
More: And go he should, if he was the Devil himself, until he broke the law!
Roper: So now you'd give the Devil benefit of law!
More: Yes. What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?
Roper: I'd cut down every law in England to do that!
More: Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned 'round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country's planted thick with laws from coast to coast– man's laws, not God's– and if you cut them down—and you're just the man to do it—do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake.

Has there ever been an answer as WHY DR thought the afternoon car speeding on his driveway was significant? Trying to understand how that could be related to DJH being there later that night.

I've never understood that either. He was so insistent it was the same guy both times. Just because of the speed they drove, and because they turned in a similar fashion. I imagine anyone coming down what they thought was a road and finding a farm house would turn around in a similar fashion. And if it was the same person, they certainly wouldn't even go up to the farmhouse the next time.

He admittedly spends most of his time in his own little fantasy world. He probably has his own ideas and things going on and it never helped investigators. It's strange, thus is why he will be a POI

I feel that he may have seen the car Kevin was driving that night which fits the description of the afternoon car.

Why did DR not feel the small car that he claims he saw that night was the kidnapper's car?

Did DR say somewhere that He did not think it was the kidnappers car. If he did I
missed it.

I have my theories on the afternoon car and I believe it does look like Kevin's girlfriends car. the LE enforcement know the order that the car that Jacob was probably in and the car that DR said was there in the afternoon actually came in to the driveway "for real". It may not have been the order that DR says they were and that is why the LE thought he was lying. The LE know which track was on top of which.

I have discussed this with DR, and he was simply clumsy with his wording, and the media was all too happy to let it fly. What he meant was that he thinks the drivers of both cars were one in the same. In other words, that whoever took Jacob that night was also there during the day, in a different car. It's his theory, not something he's certain of having happened.

Remember that he was very frustrated that LE didn't follow up on the information he gave them. Turns out he was right. Remember also that my first really cool find, from the 10/24/89 St. Cloud Times, was a quote from DR saying he saw a car in his driveway that night, at about the time of the abduction.

One more thing...In April 1991, we know that Danny Heinreich was driving a 1984 tan-colored Buick. If that car was a Regal model, and if he owned it or had access to it in October 1989, then that very well could have been him driving it. Check out the '84 Buick Regal - it looks very similar to a Monte Carlo...

It would be interesting if the people that said they are sure Danny H was in Tom Thumb that night took note of the cars in the parking area.

Do we know the ownership history of the car?
