I agree with you but they could have maimed, tazed or maced him, before shooting to kill. What else were they supposed to do when he attacked them? Todashev is the one to blame here
There is still a lot of facts missing here that we may learn later, but right now, he is right, some things are pretty weird. Why was he being interviewd in his home in a residential complex after midnight? A bit odd. I imagine they were planning to arrest him, thats why they had the state police (to take him into custody). But they may have wanted to try to get more of a confession. They did that at his place rather than at the police station or FBI office because there would then be more of an impression he is "in custody" and would have to be read miranda rights, and he would clam up. They didnt want to do that yet. So interviewed him at his place but not sure why in the middle of the night. But why would he not be patted down (for officer safety) or somehow allowed to get ahold of a knife. If the discussion got heated and he reached for a knife, why not Taze him etc? They outnumbered him at least 4-1 or 5-1? Not saying anything is wrong, its just a bit odd right now from what few facts have been released. I think that along with the fact that a lot of the bombing investigation has been weird has people being more skeptical than normal.
http://www.localnews8.com/news/tsarnaev-acquaintance-killed/-/308662/20251486/-/13qpnk7/-/index.htmlTodashev was being interviewed by two Massachusetts State Police officers and a Boston-based FBI agent in the kitchen of Todashev's Florida home, when Todashev grabbed a knife, which is why fatal force was used, according to a third source briefed on the ongoing investigation.
"Preliminary information indicates the agent took actions to defend himself," said the federal law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the case.
...Todashev had an impending flight from Orlando, via New York and Moscow, to Chechnya, when investigators sought to interview him, according to a source briefed on the ongoing investigation. He was told not to take the flight, the source said.
...Todashev was granted political asylum in 2008 but he came to the United States some time before that, a federal law enforcement official told CNN. Todashev had been living in the United States as a legal resident because of that asylum claim, the official said.
While the man was being questioned by an FBI agent, two Massachusetts State Police troopers and other law enforcement personnel, "a violent confrontation was initiated by the individual," FBI spokesman Jason Pack said.

Thank you!

It's hard for me to see the speculation and blame being diverted from the criminals to the agents or LE.
Very hard.

exactly!!!oh i dont really see real blame being diverted away from the criminals, just a lot of questions people have. I am sure the fbi is upset with how this went down and is asking their own questions. Another suspect is dead, a person who could have perhaps provided more information about the bombers activities and connections and activities.

No blame referred to...just stating a fact. He was said to be about to sign a confession and now he is dead. So, no way to prove he was there at the Waltham murder scene and no one to independently interview him.
Not that it makes a lot of difference, but the other friend interviewed, said they were to meet FBI at 7:30. He left when LE told him they wanted to talk to Todashev a couple more hours. Possibly, that might explain the "after midnight"? They may have just stayed that long questioning him.

I don't know which friend that is. IT does also have a 'friend' who has almost the same last name with a slightly different spelling (Todasjev/Todashev). They talk about sharing a car. In one post he calls him his brother, but maybe that's not his real brother. Anyway, IT's friend Todasjev has a friend who is from Dagestan and has his occupation as Chechen Mafia Weapons Specialist (I'm sure he might just think this is a cute joke?). The two of them live in Norway, but could be in High School?
