Dratel declined to discuss the nature of the questioning. But he told NBC News he believes prosecutors are still examining contacts his client had with her late husband, including in the days after the bombing. He said he has concerns she may still be indicted because of political pressure to do so -- although he does not believe the evidence would justify such a move.

Hi Girls, I am an uncle of two young men who were seriously injured at the Boston Marathon in April.

The boys names are J.P. and Paul Norden and they were with a group of seven friends standing at the second explosion on Boylston Street. Three of them received some serious injuries, including each one losing their right leg. My sister’s guys were two of the three and it was a tough and sad thing. I can tell you, it has been a long and nightmarish journey, but our guys have done an incredible job staying focused and positive.

According to the facts laid out in the Boston Police investigation report and in court, the police were investigating the use of a counterfeit bill by a group eating at Applebee's in the South Bay Center, a Dorchester mall, on April 16, 2010. A server saw the group leaving the restaurant and wrote down the plate number of their car.

There's more to the story. I thought this was of possible interest to add to the timeline (2010) and that counterfeit money was used. I'm wondering who was with her - she is claiming she doesn't really know them. At the time, I think she was living with mom? These people seem to get into a lot of trouble (see attachment).

According to police records released yesterday, on April 16, 2010, while Ailina Tsarnaeva was still living with her family on Norfolk Street in Cambridge, counterfeit money was used to pay a tab at the restaurant and her car was used by the diners police were seeking for questioning.

“She did agree that her car was used and she was there,” Champlin said today, “but then was uncooperative as to who the other parties were.”

Ailina Tsarnaeva told police she was out with friends, but didn’t know their names, and later dropped them off at South Station.

In an official investigation report, Boston Police Detective Robert J. Kenney wrote, “I pointed out how unbelievable the story was.”

The young woman’s mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, told Kenney her daughter had moved to a shelter because she felt her mother was “too strict,” a police report states.

At some point before he was shot to death in a confrontation with the FBI, Ibragim Todashev tied his buddy Tamerlan Tsarnaev to a triple murder in Waltham, according to papers filed in U.S. District Court in Boston.

“According to Todashev, Tamerlan Tsarnaev participated in the Waltham triple homicide,” reads a motion filed by federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors are trying to stop defense lawyers for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev from obtaining documents related to the elder Tsarnaev’s purported role in the Waltham slayings. In the filing, they state it could hurt the investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office into the Sept. 11, 2011, crime.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's lawyers may try to save him from the death penalty in the Boston Marathon bombing by arguing he fell under the murderous influence of his older brother, legal experts say.

The outlines of a possible defense came into focus this week when it was learned that Tsarnaev's attorneys are trying to get access to investigative records implicating the now-dead brother in a grisly triple slaying committed in 2011.

In court papers Monday, federal prosecutors acknowledged publicly for the first time that a friend of Tamerlan Tsarnaev told investigators that Tamerlan participated in the unsolved killings of three men who were found in a Waltham apartment with their throats slit, marijuana sprinkled over their bodies.

The younger Tsarnaev's lawyers argued in court papers that any evidence of Tamerlan's involvement is "mitigating information" that is critical as they prepare Dzhokhar's defense. They asked a judge to force prosecutors to turn over the records.

..."I think the mostly likely reason is that if they are arguing some kind of mitigation theory that the older brother was a monster and the younger brother was under his sway or intimidated or dominated by him," he said.

Interesting possibility as to the defense requests. As I said before, I think they should just drop seeking the death penalty anyway.

I have wondered the same thing. And, earlier, I thought some were reporting he was a part of it... that question appears to be resolved and he is not suspected of that. I am also wondering if the claim is that Todashev knew about, had some peripheral participation in, or was directly involved in the Waltham murders.

At least there is some movement and hopefully we will hear more about all the Waltham murders and Todashev's death in FL.

It's seeming like a conundrum to me. I can see where DT's lawyers might be trying to show something to benefit their client, but I can also see it wouldn't be good to release info about the Waltham murders to them. IDK.
