The Girl in the Yellow Shorts

She does look familiar.

I wouldn't call her a girl -- she looks mid-twenties to me.

She makes me think of a young Jane Seymour.

where did you find the top photo, one with the stone?

It does look like a park setting. I am wondering if it could be Griffith Park in Los Angeles, CA. Maybe the photo was taken in an area of the park that had sculptures and that is why Alcala has her posed like a statue in the one photo. There is also another girl that Alcala took a photo of that was posed like a statue.

I had just seen that pose on the rock today also for the first time. What was he thinking, when he took this picture? A blond Hiawatha? I think there just might be a clue in that, especially if there is a park that has such a statue.

I always thought those were gravestones in the background by the tree but have never taken the time to enlarge it.

Somewhere in the earlier posts, I recall reading something about Alcala and the Rockefeller Estate. Could this possibly be it? I've looked at a few pictures of it and the tree in the background of this photo looks similar to some in the pictures of this estate.

At least 4 innocuous pictures of this woman were posted. Why? Do they (LE) have other pics of her in compromising situations or do they have no others? Do they think that she met with foul play or not? Like the blond lady that some have identified as a possible "flight attendant" this lady seems to have her wits about her. She doesn't give the impression of being a destitute run-away; nor does she appear to be a drug addict...Perhaps (most likely -hopefully) she is someone who he befriended and convinced to take a few photographs and that's that.

My hopes.

This girl is so photogenic I wonder if she is a professional model. She seems to have so much poise and class I hope to God she is alright.

I think this gal http://cnnnancygrace.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/02121.jpg was with our yellow shorts girl when these photos were taken. It looks like yellow shorts girl is talking to someone in the photo below and it looks like both the pics (link above and photo below) were taken in same location. They at least seem similar to me.
Interesting. Something to think about. And the picture you linked here looks to me like the girl in this pic:

There must be something in the similarity because I knew immediately which photo you were talking about without clicking it. Is it the same time of year? It looks like some of the foliage is turning slightly yellow in that photo but not so much in the others.

I think the girl in the photo where she's on top of the rock, must be imitating a statue nearby. That's my guess anyway. Here's a statue (no info on it) but it's very similar to the pose she's assuming:

Particularly how she is holding her back arm, my gut feeling is if we could find a park or even a public grassy area around a public building with that statue, we'd find this location. I'd figure that statue would be called a scout or a lookout???

One of his known victims was found buried in a shallow grave on the Rockefeller estate, which was called Kykuit (http://www.hudsonvalley.org/content/view/12/276/ for some information about the estate). Interestingly, "Kykuit" means "lookout" in Dutch.
