I checked that as well and in Florida it stays on your record for 7 years as far as effecting your credit score, but at 5 years it basically doesn't effect it that much and loans are not tough to come by. I even called 3 dealerships and asked if a bankruptcy would prevent me from getting a loan and was told various things ranging from as long as discharged 3 to 5 years ago no problem.
I am in shock...?!$#
Come think of it, it appears Sykes got in right under the wire on that Bkrpc. She most likely knew it too. That was the year that the act was changed and you had to file it before October because after that the filer would have to repay some of the debt. They were not going to discharge it all.
...Bankruptcy is a federal law, isn't it? It shouldn't change much from state to state...IDK.
