heartbreaking anecdote from slain Marine's girlfriend:

SKIP WELLS
Lance Cpl. Squire Wells, who was known as Skip, was swapping text messages Thursday with his girlfriend of 2 1/2 years, excited that she had booked a flight to visit him in Chattanooga after months apart.

"Can't wait anymore," Wells texted. "Yes you can honey," his girlfriend, Caroline Dove, replied.

His next two words would be the last she'd ever hear from him.

"ACTIVE SHOOTER," he wrote.

She thought he was kidding: "You are so weird," she replied.

Hours of silence. "I love you," she tried. Hours more passed, the news out of Chattanooga becoming clearer. "Hon, I need you to answer me please," she wrote.

It would not be until Friday that she learned his fate.

This young man was a friend and classmate of many of my sons' friends. They are heartbroken and grieving, as they just found out this morning that Skip was one of those killed yesterday. His mom is a veteran, and I can't stop thinking of her. I can't even imagine the pain that she is going through.

Reminded of 9/11 and Atta, etc pilot training in Venice, FL...

So, in this day and age post 9/11 they didn't do the bg check befooooorehand?

Homeland Security, hello!?!

Lol, you mean the Atta who had no commercial airliner experience but somehow managed to crash a 757 directly into the middle of the north tower. Which then mysteriously disintegrated into its own footprint.

Do most people still believe this stuff??? Boy oh boy....

OT..
Anyone have Comcast if so is yours out?
I googled Comcast outage map ant it is just crazy what is going on??

It seems strange to me that he could ever have worked at a nuclear power plant without first receiving a security clearance. In years past I applied to work on a classified government project & I had to have a completed security clearance before I could even stick my head in the front door. Perhaps requirements have become more lax. If that is the case, the government is begging for trouble. The project I worked on was no where nearly as sensitive as working at a nuclear power plant.

A firefighter and former Marine took down an armed robber with his bare hands, and it was all recorded by a surveillance camera at a Midlothian, Texas gas station. And now, Daniel Gaskey is being hailed as a hero.
Here Ya go anti-United States SALON.

What a fine line the FBI is walking: yes.. The FBI is on the verge of loosing all credibility with the American citizens, imo.
I have been researching a very violent and dangerous Brooklyn, NY muslim extremist group for over a year now. The FBI investigated them for many violent crimes including executions, bank robberies, etc., for over 2 decades beginning in the 1980s without sharing their findings and other info with the NYPD due to PC. They eventually changed the organization's name and migrated to GA, to avoid further FBI scrutiny while continuing their ungodly crimes.

I think these groups or lone wolfs are more plentiful than our Govt wants us to believe. The below link is another one the Feds basically said, nothing to see here, move on.

Tennessee shooter failed drug test at Ohio nuclear plant

TOLEDO, Ohio A man who gunned down four Marines in Tennessee and injured a sailor from Ohio briefly worked at a nuclear plant near Cleveland but was let go after failing a drug test.
Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez was conditionally hired as an engineer at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant and spent 10 days there before he was let go, FirstEnergy Corp. spokesman Todd Schneider said. Abdulazeez didn't pass the screening process in May 2013 and "did not meet minimum requirements for ongoing employment," Schneider said.

A federal official briefed on the matter said the issue was a drug test. The company had earlier said that Abdulazeez had failed a background check.
