Police investigating bodies found as double homicide

Police say 33-year-old Holly A. Williams and her estranged boyfriend 36-year-old William L. Lanway were found shot to death Friday morning off a construction road at 497 Old Hickory Boulevard in West Nashville.

Police say a construction worker found the pair late Friday morning inside Williams’ crashed 2005 white Acura sedan. The car had gone off the construction road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. Both airbags deployed.

Police say the two people found dead in a car Friday morning along Old Hickory Boulevard were murdered, according to autopsy examinations.

Metro Police: 3 wanted for questioning in March homicide of woman, estranged boyfriend

Three men wanted for questioning are believed to have knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the homicides of Holly Williams, 33, and William Lanway, 36, on March 13. The men were shown on surveillance footage outside Williams' Hillmeade Drive apartment a few days before she and Lanway were killed.

Police said they "suspiciously took action to cover the camera's lens" after the images being released on Monday were recorded.
 
Man states "this only happened because you tried to run away" while attacking ex-girlfriend

36-year-old William Lanway was charged with aggravated assault with strangulation and false imprisonment after he attacked his ex-girlfriend who he was still living with.

On January 12th, officers were dispatched to Hillmeade Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. Holly Williams stated she had recently broken up with her boyfriend, William Lanway, who had been living in her apartment for the past several months.
 
I checked before, but nothing had been posted about this yet. I knew Bill (William). He had so many difficult circumstances in his life. The domestic violence arrests were very surprising to hear about. Most of his friends weren’t aware of these until hearing the news of his death.

I keep checking to see if anyone has identified any of the 3 men wanted for questioning, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. If this thread ever picks up, I can become verified.

Yes! Came here to see what has been written about this. Never heard of this case, and agree I would expect a lot of attention on it. This was crazier than any plot you could make up. The brother of Brockway can't possibly believe a word coming out of his mouth. The evidence completely backs up the recording showing what his brother did.

I wonder how the boyfriend knew Maund was rich. I also wonder if he extorted other clients of hers in the past. Just unreal, but Lamway got them killed. I hope Maund's $ doesn't buy him out of jail eventually.

Agree about Brockway’s brother! Come on Dude… he was the one who first suggested the murder it seems… makes me wonder what he’s done in the past as it was so easy for him to even suggest it.
Yeah maybe Lamway knew who he was and knew he had money, not sure - we will never know that probably. Really it’s a good bet that people indulging in high priced escorts do have money though… maybe as you said he had extorted before?
$25,000 compared to what Maund paid is less than 1%.
I disagree that Lamway got them killed. The 4 convicted men got them killed. Of course Lamway was playing with fire but he couldn’t have expected this.
I wonder if Williams even told Lamway about the men coming to her door?

Agree. Makes you wonder about the brother, but family will support family no matter. Those 4 did the murder, but Lamway was quite an unsympathetic victim. I don't know anything about this case to see what all the evidence was as to how they determined if she knew about the extortion or not. These shows tend to be not very detailed and then, when you pull up articles on them, there is a lot of evidence. If there was nothing explicit about her knowing, that is likely enough reason for them to say she didn't know about it. Again, the question I have is if he ever extorted anyone else, and, of course, the obvious answer is, we will not know. If he did extort someone successfully, they paid, and will never tell. It's their secret. It's hard to believe that if she was escorting for a while that he didn't hit up anybody else for money previously.

Interestingly, it looks like Maund filed for divorce in May, 2020 I think, but wasn't arrested for sometime after. What a crazy case and strange there wasn't more in the news on it. I'm guessing the reason is because the murder occurred at the beginning of the pandemic. Otherwise, I think it would've been huge.

Oh wow, I was wondering if he was divorced now. Well I’m sure it wasn’t a perfect marriage not including this, obviously… I hope his wife and children are doing ok.
I wonder if the other reason there’s not a lot on it is that unfortunately the victims are not “sympathetic” to a lot of people… not in my opinion.
Agreed that if someone was extorted previously it would stay a secret… I did read somewhere that LE believes Williams did not know about the extortion. But realistically they could have been in on it together…
Gosh what a terrible relationship this was for her in sooo many ways. The incident with her dog was horrible!

Exactly. Agree with all you said. And don't even start me on the dog. A special place in hell for anyone who harms children and animals.
