Court back in session. Defense called a police officer back to the stand who wrote in his death report that one baby was 5lbs, the other 3lbs. Defense is trying to show the jury babies were different sizes. Police officer estimated (guessed), the coroner's report should be considered accurate.
Not sure why the defense is going there. The jury has seen graphic photos of the boys in the laundry basket and autopsy photos.

Next up is an expert to testify about LL's mental capacity. The state filed a motion to block it and the judge has excused the jury while they argue this.

Disgusting!! Jeremy Smith has NOT been charged with any crime. The defense is disgusting!

Right? And THAT gave her the right to murder her babies. Cause that makes complete sense.

Hopefully the jury isn't buying it any more than we are.
 
What nonsense. Didn't know she was pregnant? Right. So kill the babies? She lived very close to a hospital where she could have dropped them off and been free to go about her life. Don't feel a bit sorry for her.

What does the fact that the babies were of different sizies have to do with anything? Does defense think it's o'key to kill babies if they are not the same size? The mind boggles.

It doesn't matter whether he would or wouldn't take care of them.
She could have dropped them at the hospital, no questions asked.
She could have arranged for them to be adopted.
 
She murdered her babies because she cheated on her fiancé and got pregnant w the other man's children. Not wanting her fiancé to find out, break up w her & lose the comfortable he planned to have w him she decided to suffocate her innocent newborn babies. That's cold blooded murder if you ask me
 
I've been following this case since it was first in the news. In her early police interview Lyndsey admitted to police that she suffocated the babies. In the tape of that interview, it does not appear to me that she was coerced or led by the detective in what to say. There is no doubt that she hid the pregnancy and births, and she cleaned up the bathroom (where the births occurred) and hid the babies' bodies.

It is expected that her father may take the stand this morning. My heart aches for him. Lyndsey's mother found the first baby's body and told her husband who called the police. Although he did the right thing, he surely doesn't want his daughter to go to prison for life.

The word is there may be closing arguments today and the case may even go to the jury.

I'm watching the Channel 5 streaming feed online because I'm a big fan of Nick Beres. He did a great job on the Mary Winkler trial as well as others. He's great!

Something else that makes it hard for me to believe the Lyndsey didn't know she was pregnant are the google searches done on her smart phone five days before the delivery. Not only did she search for a pregnancy calculator, she searched for how to induce labor, pregnant women/doctor *advertiser censored*, and free videos of pregnant woman sex. Ewwww!

For me, the one and only point in her favor is that she didn't do a better job hiding the dead babies. Why didn't make more effort in that regard? Had she done so, this trial would most probably not be taking place.
 
Her dad is on the stand now. They had no idea she was pregnant. Live feed is off because of storms, but twitter feeds are updating.
 
The case still hasn't gone to jury. I believe there will be at least one more witness before closing arguments begin.

The trial started on time this morning but live streaming wasn't possible due to severe weather. Channel 5 recorded the proceedings and are playing them at this moment while the participants are on their lunch break. Right now, they are playing the testimony of Miss Lowe's father.

When court starts back after lunch, the live streaming will begin again, weather permitting.

At the rate they are going, it's certainly possible that the jury may not begin deliberations until tomorrow.
