Tennessee woman accused of raping at least 9 students; community shaken by allegations: report

Members of a Tennessee community expressed shock and outrage last week after a 38-year-old woman was accused of using vape pens and other enticements to lure local high school students into having sex with her, according to a report.

Melissa Blair, of Englewood, was arrested and facing charges of solicitation of a minor, 18 counts of statutory rape, four counts of human trafficking by patronizing prostitution, and forfeiture of personal property, WTVC-TV of Chattanooga, Tennessee, reported.

There were at least nine victims, who were age 14 to 17 at the time of the alleged crimes and attended the same high school, the station reported.

I suspect female sexual predators are more common than we think. There are female predators ranging from Pamela Smart, Antoinette Davis, Lori Drew, Melissa Huckaby, and Ghislaine Maxwell.

McMINN COUNTY, Tenn. — A McMinn County, Tennessee woman charged with dozens of counts related to child molestation pleaded guilty on Monday to several of the charges in court.

Melissa Blair's trial was close to getting underway, but this new plea agreement means she will not face a jury.

At Monday's hearing, a prosecutor said Blair admitted to having "inappropriate sexual relations with several underage males."

Blair pleaded guilty to several charges, including solicitation of a minor, patronizing prostitution, aggravated statutory rape, solicitation of a minor by electronic means, sexual exploitation of a minor, and exploitation of a minor by electronic means. In all, Blair pleaded guilty to 36 counts.

Melissa Ann Blair, 40, previously of Englewood, Tennessee, was sentenced Monday on a guilty plea to aggravated statutory rape, solicitation of a minor, patronizing prostitution, soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor through electronic means. Court records show she was first charged on an indictment in the case in February 2022.
