Actor Tracy Morgan in critical condition after six-vehicle accident in New Jersey

(CNN) -- Actor Tracy Morgan was in critical condition after he was injured in a six-car accident early Saturday in New Jersey, authorities said.

The wreck killed at least one person, said Sgt. Gregory William of New Jersey State Police.

The former "Saturday Night Live" cast member and "30 Rock" star was riding in a Limo bus when the accident occurred in Mercer County, said Sgt. Gregory Williams of the New Jersey State Police.

The limo bus overturned at the New Jersey Turnpike in Robbinsville, he said.

"Looks like one of the tractor-trailers may have rear-ended that limo bus, but that's preliminary at this time."

A dozing truck driver didn't see traffic slowing in front of his 18-wheeler until it was too late, crashing into the vehicle carrying comedian Tracy Morgan and his entourage, police said today.

James McNair, a passenger on board the limo bus with Morgan, was killed in the crash, police said. He was comedy writer for Morgan.

Morgan's assistant, Jeff Millea, was also in critical condition after he was injured, an official briefed on the investigation said.

What a horrible accident. The survivors were brought to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital which has an excellent trauma center. My little sister was taken there last year in critical condition and the doctors, nurses, and staff are truly incredible.

Prayers to all for a speedy recovery.
