I now think that Jodi & Travis were NEVER a couple (like others have pointed out here). Jodi is the one who made the decision to change her entire life to be near Travis--and that's just not normal or healthy. AVL should be talking about Jodi's psychological inability to make wise decisions & go into the pathology of a woman who meets a man and then ends a 4 year relationship involving property ownership & a small child immediately after meeting a man at a conference.

Also pathological is Jodi's immediate acceptance of Mormonism--she would have converted to Catholicism or Judaism if that's what religion Travis was.

After making these major life decisions based on landing Travis, Jodi immediately uses sex as a means to manipulate him. He was NOT sexually experienced before Jodi. Jodi is more than knowledgeable about anal, oral and lubricants, and she uses sex as a tool of manipulation.

Jodi was knocking herself out to get Travis to marry her or even make her his "official" girlfriend. She couldn't close the deal.

At whatever point that she realized that her crotch wasn't forcing Travis to do what she wanted, she got angry & this rage bubbled right beneath the surface. That's when Psycho Jodi started acting out with the tire slashing, hacking into accounts, intimidating other women & breaking into Travis' home.

She then switched to a "Perfect Woman" persona: It's OK to not make me your girlfriend, Travis. But we have great sex! And we have fun traveling! Let's just do that, and I'll agree that you are a free agent.

Jodi then puts all her strength into becoming sexually attractive and irresistible to Travis under the guise of being OK with just having a friends with benefits relationship.

The whole time she is doing this, she is getting angrier and angrier. Travis is dating "good girls" who don't have sex with him, and he prefers them. Once Travis is married, Jodi will have no place in his life and she knows this. She has lost the game.

Jodi was enraged with Travis for a long time. Travis was too inexperienced and naive sexually to see what was going on. Too bad ALV is so biased towards women as victims because Travis is a classic victim!

I am just absolutely DISGUSTED in this pathetic attempt by the <modsnip> to try and paint nasty Arias as some kind of Domestic Abuse Victim. It's repulsive and it negates all the MILLIONS of women around this world who are and have legitimately been abused. I am a DV Survivor, from the time I was in my late teens and all the way up until my early 30's I have put myself in situations and relationships that were abusive. I have had a lead crystal ashtray whizzed at my head that gashed the side of my head open to the point I had to have 10 staples in my head, I have had massive black eyes, punched in the face like I was a man, bruises all over my body, dragged by my hair throughout the house, running out my front door in nothing but my underwear and NO shoes in the middle of Winter screaming for help from passers by because I was being beat. I sure as heck didn't run BACK INTO THE SITUATION, I RAN AWAY FROM!!! I have stayed in shelters, went without, lost everything and much more horrific scenarios that happened. To have this sorry excuse of a woman have the NERVE to claim she was abused violates everything that is right and just. Travis NEVER abused her, if anything he probably treated her like crap hoping she would GO AWAY and since she is a crazy stalker, she never did. I just hope the Jury sees through her litany of LIES and understand the truth. I don't think I could bear the thought of another Casey Anthony Verdict. That's why I almost wish I never began to get interested in this case. I just do not trust humanity enough to think they will do the right thing and that is terribly sad.

I am so sorry Indy. I cannot even imagine the horror. I have been emotionally abused but never physically abused. My heart goes out to you.

This trial scares me so much - I have said this numerous times. To me it is making a joke out of real Domestic Violence and minimizing the brutality of the crime. I sometimes wonder if people will start claiming DV because their SO yelled at them or called them names. The Defence Witnesses have been total jokes. Pretty easy money for these witnesses. Get on the stand and do babble talk for days.

I know I am rambling and I am sorry. Totally disgusted at what is being portrayed by the defence.

Why doesn't Alyce get into the gritty how women gold dig, get into that cycle of DV....push buttons, manipulate like no other, start fights, fight men like a man, stalk, or flat-out abuse their husbands? Why doesn't she talk about how sexually aggressive woman have become? Alyce wants us to believe only men abuse...well, BS.

I don't know, but it seems to me--all the women lately who claim abuse who make real DV survivors raise their eyebrows seem to be gold-diggers and seem to good at getting facials via "mouth hugs". Why is that? jmho

Financial problems can cause issues in any relationship. I personally think, even though Darryl said he loved her, he was glad to see her go. His child was his number one priority (as it should be) but we all know that may not have been so great for Jodi since she told ALV she practically raised her youngest brother and sister. That seems to be an issue with Jodi or she would have never put it to ALV in that manner. jmo

I always take offense when a sibling claims they practically raised their younger siblings. Watching over younger siblings, changing a few diapers does not equal being a parent. Never has, never will.

Hey everyone Good morning I only made it to page 48 of the last thread. Ms. LaViolette, in my opinion is just another uninformed highly overpaid expert who was hired by the DT to portray the killer as a victim. It’s too sad the jury has so many lies to think about for the next 4 days.
I am aware of JC being for the DT by day, and then changes over to the PT by night. I imagine she had to swear to tell the truth, nothing but the truth. I also know this no longer means anything in our courts. So I am very curious about what JC did on the stand. Who was she questioned by? Whose side did she take, the DT or the PT?

Not only did he not pay for lunch, he argued w the waitress over his bill for a drink he claimed he didn't order. He kept reorienting himself around this large table and every time he was in earshot I turned my back and ignored him and talked to the person next to me. He literally followed us out of the courthouse and tagged along to the restaurant. Weird but not the first time this has happened. But the last. As I told the much younger Katie "just because someone wants something from you does not mean you have to give it".

I drove down yesterday specifically to see Katie and how she was doing and these other ladies had attached themself to her tagging along. One turned to me and asked "now who are the Hughes?". I turned to Katie and said "these wowen are not coming with us to lunch" then took care of it. My opinion is if you d invited yourself better be prepared to be uninvited. No more playing at this stage...I don't care if I'm perceived as impolite. To me tagging along and horning inis what's rude so I'm flexing my boundaries muscle

I have always assumed the license plate was put upside once she got to Utah (or nearby) on purpose so she could get pulled over... since an upside down license plate is eye catching.... then laughed "oh my friends must be playing a joke on me" and then there, now its on record she was nowhere near Travis at that time.

What are your opinions? I didnt realize (i must be slow :blushingthat it was thought she did that to not be noticed near Travis house. Wouldnt the upside down plate stand out more if thats the case?

Juan wasn't showing it to her--he was making a point to the jury that despite all the testimony the defense elicited from her about the problems she had with Travis, slitting his throat was NOT a "reasonable" action to take.

Jodi's lawyers had her up there to reinforce the idea that Travis was sexually abusive. Juan showed the picture to show that slitting someone's throat isn't justified by someone's actions. JMOO

Reading through a bunch of twitter stuff and found this timeline. I says it all. Nurmi wants to withdraw purportedly because he is leaving public defender's office - Jodi wants to represent herself for the hearing re: forged pedophile letters. Judge makes Nurmi and partner stay on in a advisory role - Jodi represents herself in hearing, motion to admit forged letters denied - they are withdrawn. Jodi then files a motion to be represented AGAIN by counsel - namely Nurmi.

This SCREAMS that Nurmi knew Jodi was perpetrating a fraud upon the court and refused to participate. That's my take anyways.

On 4/4/2011 Mr. Nurmi stated his objection to remaining on the case during a status hearing as he has left the Public Defender Office to go into private practice. The Court found that Mr. Nurmi has an ethical obligation to continue representing the defendant but would begin receiving a reasonable hourly rate of $225.00 as compensation to avoid any financial interests that would place Mr. Nurmi in conflict with his client.

On 8/8/2011 defendant has a hearing on an oral motion she submitted to represent herself. At the end of the hearing this motion is granted but Kirk Nurmi and Victoria Washington are to remain as advisory counsel, with Victoria Washington as primary. The evidentiary hearing on the purported letters from Travis Alexander alleging he is a pedophile is held with Ms. Arias as defense counsel.

On 8/9/2011 during a normal status conference both Victoria Washington and Kirk Nurmi address the Court as to the roles and responsibility of advisory counsel, and the primary counsel (which is now the defendant). The Court agrees and addresses this with Ms. Arias and asks her if she wishes to remain as her own counsel. She states she will continue as primary counsel.

On 8/15/2011 the evidentiary hearing regarding the &#8220;pedophile&#8221; letters is completed. The Court orders that the letters are precluded and the defense withdraws them. At the end of this hearing Ms. Arias submits an oral request to withdraw as her own counsel and requests that Mr. Nurmi and Victoria Washington be reinstated as defense counsel. The Court orders Kirk Nurmi and Victoria Washington to represent the defendant in all further proceedings.
