I just re-watched the end of today's morning session -- and Jodi did NOT stand up when the jury filed out the courtroom for lunch !

WTH ?

Anyway ... her mit spec lady walked over to her and started talking to her, and Jodi was still sitting down ...

Unfortunately, the camera went off ...

Any thoughts ?

:moo:

She is going to have a migraine headache and court will recess for the day.

Think detective Flores is out grabbing a copy of the 2009 book? Roflmao

SC, have you heard any reports as to whether the jury has submitted questions today? Based on my info (KCL) I don't believe they submitted any yesterday. TIA

wildabouttrial reported one question went in before lunch.

Whew! Just got caught up here.... JW hasn't changed her approach at all...I feel badly, it's like having a hunk of toilet paper hanging on the bottom of your heel, and no one tells you...just lets you wander around the cocktail party....all sophisticated and stuff....why doesn't Nurmi give her a lil heads up that this isn't quite going as well as she might think......

Or have your skirt stuffed in the back of your pantyhose. Always a show stopper.

Hi Ana from Portugal, glad you joined us.

Wow, I just watched the end again and everyone is right, she is so on something it isn't even funny. She is completely out of it.

Thing is... JW thinks she's going to "trap" Dr D - but Dr D is honest, corrects misconceptions, clarifies answers, etc. The jury is not going to appreciate JW trying to be "juanderful" because she's failing miserably.

This is such a waste of time. The defense lawyer is not going to find a way to demonstrate that the expert doesn't know what she's doing ... because the expert knows what she's doing.

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Great analogy. But, somehow I don't feel badly watching JW embarrass herself. :blushing:

I don't feel badly at all either. The woman teaches this. She should be a polished expert. Just imagine her giving a lecture :banghead:

That I can find there WASN'T list of criteria in the 1st edition. I've found a review that says that the 2nd edition in 1992 "revised the definition to be synonymous with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)". The review goes on to state that in the 3rd edition "Walker again revised the definition of BWS in 2006 to include not only the three symptom clusters of PTSD (re-experiencing, numbing of responsiveness, hyperarousal), but also three additional criteria". So 1st edition had no criteria, 2nd edition had the 1st 3 associated with PTSD, and the 3rd edition added the last 3 from what I've found.

Thanks for that... The reason I asked was JW was making it sound like there were no differences between the 2 editions re: the criteria in the 2 editions. Trying to make it sound like the expert was relying on old data. Then in the same line of questioning tries to say that the author didn't even recommend using the 6 criteria anymore...

if nurmi is any kind of pal at all, he needs to tell her to wrap it up. make whatever major points she needs to make, keep it short and sit down. seriously, she HAS to be done soon, right?
We can but dream. I just realised there's also BPD to cover as well. *sigh*

I love that the witness is so organized, professional and methodical.

She doesn't need to read something ad take 10 minutes doing it

She hands over her information in seconds...no digging through bags, left it at home, dog ate it excuses.

sacrablue: De Marte is just a mouthpiece of JM. Of coarse she hasn't done anything wrong....she hasn't done anything to solve the problem. If I suffered from depression she would be the last person I would see.

Brought this over from the previous thread.

DrD was hired to do an evaluation. JA was not sent for a psych evaluation by the court or the jail. JA did not seek out treatment on her own.

You can't treat somebody who doesn't come to you for treatment.

Summary:

Defense is still Crossing Dr.D and trying to impeach her education and experience. They are still on cross after lunch. Arias is wearing a green shirt in court today and does not look well and has been spotted making strange faces at times. Some members noted that she did not stand for the jury at the noon recess until someone ran over and reminded her.

BBM :seeya:

I believe NOTHING of her conspicuous acting. Everything she does is calculated BS.

Gal is slipping down, down, down into depression. Maybe on the coaching of the mitigation specialist. How cynical am I? :blushing:
Whatever it is, she's illustrating the Dx Dr. D gave her IMO.

I think you're right, kaRN. Over the past few days, Jodi looks very pale, not rested, and is losing weight. She seems to be preoccupied and in her own little world - completely oblivious to what is going on around her. She doesn't seem to care that she is on trial for brutally killing Travis and that her eventual fate could be the DP. Some of her behaviors lately have been beyond bizarre, but the DT seems to overlook how their client comes across in the courtroom. :moo:
