One would hope so.

I can't help thinking that if there was anything truly negative for OP then they would have been called to testify by the prosecution.

I remain horrified by the idea that they suggested OP should stick Reeva's broken and bleeding body in a car and make his own way to the hospital. It just seems so far removed from what we would regard as effective care for traumatic injuries here.

That is why I wondered if he had been economical with the truth when relating Reeva's injuries.

The call with Netcare lasted 1 minute and 6 seconds. Is that long enough to explain that you need an ambulance to this certain address, get asked what is wrong with the patient, tell them exactly what is wrong with the patient (shot 3 times, one in the head) and have them tell the person calling to not wait for the ambulance but to instead bring them in a car to the hospital?

I also seriously doubt that OP was honest with them about the extent of the injuries that Reeva suffered. There is no way that OP did not notice that part of Reeva's head was gone and that the wound was as bad as has been described in court.

MOO

Well what a truly disappointing prosecution case.

Smashed downstairs window
Standers not called to testify
Blood on bedroom walls, duvet and watch box
Apparently Reeva's slippers position was crucial, yet nada on them
Bashed metal plate
Damaged bedroom door & bullet ? hole
Reeva's phone in bathroom with backing case off (dropped?)

TOO many multiple unanswered questions grrr

Surely they could trace call at about 01:48am from Oscar's phone, i.e. to whom

And , why not call "coffee guy" to the stand if he had most recent face to face human contact with Reeva, to ascertain/gauge her mood/mindset etc prior to her untimely, unnecessary death :-( RIP Reeva x

It is possible that during the call, all he stated was someone was shot, he needed an ambulance, gave address and then was told to rather bring victim in (maybe wasn't an ambulance available at that time if it was serious etc etc).. I really honestly don't find anything strange about the fact they told him to bring her in! :)

I believe so, too.

He did not call anyone at 1:48 his phone accessed the internet and the phone guy explained this could have been done on its own without anyone actually accessing the internet.

I also read an interview with the ex that said while they were having coffee OP phoned twice. He asked if she was ok and she said everything was fine. He said she seemed normal, not upset. That's why he wasn't called I think.

If you had three starter questions to put to OP on the witness stand, what would they be? I might want to ask:

1. Can you describe in detail all your actions from the time of the fourth shot to unlocking the toilet cubicle? (According to his/Roux's version, there was up to 10 minutes between shots fired and bat on door. That's a heck of a long time).

2. In your affidavit you state that "I believed that when the intruder/s came out of the toilet we would be in grave danger." So at the point at which you fired the shots, you did not believe you were in danger? (So he was not acting in self defence at the point at which he shot an alleged intruder he had never seen).

3. After you fired the first shot, what noises did you here in the toilet cubicle? (No screams, I presume. Did he not hear the sounds of a body slumping from standing to sitting on top of the magazine rack, that would indicate the person had been wounded? Why then fire another three shots other than to murder said person?)

1. What time did you and Reeva really go to bed on Feb 13th, if you even went to bed at all?

2. Why did you describe your relationship with Reeva as loving when there is proof in text message form that she was unsure of the relationship and if you were in love with her at all?

3. Can you scream now for the court as you claim that you did the night that you shot and killed Reeva? If the scream does NOT sound like a female, how do you explain that?

Oh sorry and who tweeted that Oscar's phone left the scene around 8 am that morning?? I missed that info. Thanks x

partial quote:
The 1:48 am phone use lasting 5 minutes is important - OP was awake, not sleeping- just prior to heated argument, screaming and gun shots.
That 5 minutes does not prove OP was awake then.

That's not what the pathologist said though. He said that a scream would be an involuntary reaction, and could continue after the shot to the brain. That surprised me, as I too thought it would stop instantly, but apparently not.

BBM

This.

Yet OP and Reeva's phones both show internet activity at the same time. How likely is it that both phones accessed the internet at the same time without someone doing this themselves?

I thought her phone was already accessed because she left an app open?

During testimony today the phone guy (can't recall his name) testified that at/after 8 am OP's phone was pinging off of a different tower than the one it was pinging off of when at the house.

But both at the same time? That doesn't seem odd? Then if you add in the stomach contents and when it was determined that she last ate and that matches up with the phone activity, that still doesn't seem odd?

I'm glad to say I've never seen anyone fatally shot in the head.

It was the ballistics expert who testified about the order of the shots, not the pathologist.

The Telegraph has paraphrased Prof Saayman's words, of course, but I remember being surprised at what he said regarding a final scream continuing to be audible after the shot. I don't remember his exact words, but the gist of it was that the last scream would have continued for a few seconds. I didn't mean that she would have screamed again after that.

first bold by me

and this...

What was the significance of Batman's "being on stumps" with bat versus defence's on prosthesis?? Why does it matter? Just to confirm Oscar's version? Or identify sloppy police work??

No, it was the right side of her head.

My mistake. However, it still makes no sense for his defense to claim that the head shot was first. If they do this then they have to explain how OP was able to shoot her in the hip when she was down. The trajectory would not add/line up.

Another thing that trouble's me with the whole Pistorius/Stander phone call, given that Stander is the estate manager would it be likely that he knew Stipp was a doctor?, so wouldn't the obvious thing for him to do after speaking to Oscar be to telephone Stipp for help?.

Roux: Some GPRS communications from the deceased, early in the morning, past the hour of the unfortunate incident. How do you explain that?

11.3 hour connection.

FM: One of the applications was still open and connected. User didn't end the connection.

Roux: And it could be emails coming in etc....

Reeva's phone.

13th Feb 12.11.50 (SA time)

Connected to the internet for 17 secs.

Voicecall incoming. OP phoned Reeva 13th Feb 13.02.52.
240 seconds it lasted, I think. Used his official cell phone.

Four internet connections at 13.07-13.40 in silverwoods area. Lasted thousands of seconds.

Incoming sms text to Reeva's. No cell number of who it came from.

Incoming call from OP ( missed time)

Feb 13th 15.54.07 Incoming call from OP. Pinged off silverlakes tower again

Feb 13th. 17.12.57 Incoming call from OP. Lasted 63 secs. Same tower ping.

Reeva made a call Feb 13th. 17.44.54 to OP. Another tower so indicating she moved.

Internet connection. Again silverlakes. 20.04.00, lasted 17 secs.

Rest of the day it was all internet connections.

Last one Feb 13th. 20.04.17. Lasted 41,000 secs.

But both at the same time? That doesn't seem odd? Then if you add in the stomach contents and when it was determined that she last ate and that matches up with the phone activity, that still doesn't seem odd?

Ok, I was just reading back through zwiebel's post. I don't know how anyone got the impression that OP and Reeva's phones were accessed at the exact same time on that night. I can see that his was accessed at 1:48 but not hers. This says her last internet connection was made around 8:00 o'clock. Thats when the app was opened, the one that stayed open for 11 hours. I did not get the impression that their internet was accessed at the same time that night. If that were true that would be huge...

Ah thank you. He didn't identify which tower, since they could determine all the others?? Strange, eh?
