Alexandria police responded to a break-in only to discover the suspects were doing dental work.

Three people were arrested Saturday after they were caught in a local dentist's office trying to fix a partial filling.

Lace Evans, 25, of 5830 Gene Ball Drive, Alexandria, Charles Mathis, 24, of 7191 La. Highway 112, Elmer, and David Burns, 28, of 2436 La. Highway 121, Hineston, were arrested at the dental office about 2 a.m.

Officers responded to Masonic Drive after a security alarm went off.

Evans was seen coming out of an office inside Dr. John Moreau's Dentist Office, police reports state.

Evans told officers she worked for the dentist and thought she had left her purse. She said her boyfriend, Burns, was waiting outside.
