I’m heartbroken for that beautiful boy. And I can’t help but think there is so much more to this bizarre story.
What’s the alternative scenario to explain the relative walking out to the body in the street later that morning? Why would LE ask his mother (or whomever the relative was) to ID him there at the crime scene, instead of somewhere more appropriate and sensitive?
Wouldn't that also technically be a form of contamination of the crime scene?
ETA: IF that happened.
That's what I think. My hunch is he is troubled as in delusional. He might have noticed the boys previously on his wanderings through the neighborhood. At this point, I don't think the perp knew the family from any crime connections. The one neighbor said he didn't think Brown was "right in the head".
Maybe Brown is just mentally ill and this will never make sense, the motive is his own internal delusion?
LE doesn't instantly know what happened. For all they know when arriving at the scene, the other boy is in danger in that home and it's proper to remove him until that is straightened out. I hope it's not more than that.Re the twin in cps...parents might be very stressed (understandably). Maybe it is for respite.,..not for any parental wrong doing. Moo
No say it ain't so.I just checked Dallas court Records and there is a defendant by the same name who was charged with “evading arrest” in April awaiting a late May hearing.

Wow. Never ceases to amaze me. Was Cash's twin in state custody before or after this? Tell me CPS was not involved before this precious wee one was slaughtered. MOOOh, this hurts my heart. Poor little boy.
From WFAA reporter @malinibasu_ on Twitter-
This 4y/o boy was found murdered on Saturday am on Saddlerige drive in the Mountain Creek Area in Dallas.
Mom identifies him as Cash Gernon. She says, “Cash was sleeping when he was kidnapped.”
Cash has a twin brother, who mom says, is in state custody now.
Pray for Cash
18y/o Darriynn Brown was arrested by @DallasPD & @FBIDallas on kidnapping, & theft charges.
Authorities say, Brown had an ankle monitoring bracelet on for a prior charge.
Charges at expected to be upgraded.

Interesting comments and screenshot. It occured to me the possible motive could have been whats mentioned there because it just made sense. But I didnt wanna think that way. Now I think it just might be. So sad.

I believe there’s much more to the story. Why would a guardian identify herself as a mom to Cash? Is she a foster mom, a friend or relative to Cash, and what is the connection of the alleged kidnapper to Cash or the caregiver? This was updated a few minutes ago.
Instead of Cash’s mom speaking off-camera yesterday- it was his guardian.
From the article-
“WFAA spoke with a woman off-camera who identified herself as little boy’s mother, though police described her as the boy's guardian. She said the 4-year-old, Cash Gernon, was a "happy-go-lucky" boy.”
