Was he at the strip club with his mom? I thought he was there alone, and the bartender had to take him back to the hotel to get money from his mom. She wasn't actually present at the club, was she?

NOOOOOOO!! Not the dog! I'm so sad, please find him!!!!!

That dog is probably in hiding, afraid they will find him and send him back to those people. I think he cut bait and hit the bricks of his own volition. (Kidding, sort of)

Sheriff says all options on table for Tonya Couch return. This link has a very irritating advertisement that pops up before the article, but 1 click will get rid of the ad.

My favorite quote is that the sheriff says his office "is not in a hurry to go pick her up in Los Angeles." Especially when she's been so eager to "come home" to Texas.

And then there's the schtick about maybe having her come by land "under a contract" with the sheriff's department. Bwahaha! 1500 miles, 22+ hours. Sitting on her butt in the back of a blacked out car? Begging for potty breaks and breakfast at McD's? Momma's not gonna like this brand of travel!

This sheriff is doing a great job of "keeping his options open" as a way of letting this perp know who's in charge and it ain't her.

I hope TwerpMom gets the contract car option..... I'll bet the Sheriff makes sure land travel is the "safest" option, the "best use of personnel resources", and the one with the "lowest cost to taxpayers".

Yes! So icky. It was in an article posted upthread.

She went there with him, they were drinking, she went back to hotel.

He ran up big tab, had no money, they escorted him back to get money from mom but she didn't have the $ either so Ethan gave them his Rolex. Next day they were moved out. (This is from memory, so I may have some stuff wrong).

But for SURE the article said she went to the strip club with him.

Can you IMAGINE???????

Why can't out of country witnesses be subpoenaed? Surely some of the patrons there are Americans/English speakers, or the court can get translators. Maybe they can even Skype their testimony.

Because US courts have no jurisdiction over anyone unless they are a resident or a citizen of the United States. A subpoena cannot be legally served in Mexico under US law, and even if it could be served, it would be unenforceable. So unless those patrons are US citizens or residents, they can’t be served.

You are correct.

Wow, she even gets priority boarding.

Would you do it differently? "Priority boarding" only works well when all the seats are up for grabs and you have important carry-on. When I fly if I have an assigned seat, I'm the last to board. To me, that's priority.

I would probably put her on a bus, but that’s just me. I think way too much tax money has already been wasted on this case.

I wonder what the savings/if any are. Also, you probably would have to deal with a hotel in there somewhere. I'm sure the deputies would prefer a plane ride if they have any say in it.

No hotel. Just a non-stop ride on one of those prison busses with the bars on the windows. Thats the way I would do it.

Okay it's the Daily Mail but still...

Couch and his mother Tonya went to a strip club in Puerto Vallarta called Harem on the evening of December 23, where employees said he partied the night away.

The 18-year-old, who received a slap-on-the-wrist probation term for killing four people in a drunk driving accident, had several drinks with his mother before she left the club leaving him behind.

So where did this dog come from? Are we to believe they were keeping a wolf hybrid (sure looks like one to me, judging from wolf hybrid characteristics like the tail and skull structure) at a resort in Puerta Vallarta?

The Couches were traveling with their dog, and the hotel [Los Tules] advertises itself as pet-friendly.

“The boy walked in and asked if we had rooms available and whether their dog was allowed,” Meza said, recalling the check-in on Dec. 19. “I said yes, a king-size, but he said he was traveling with his mother and needed two beds. I said OK, but they had to leave by Christmas because we were booked solid.”

In the evenings, she walked their dog and ran along the Pacific Ocean.
