TX - Giselle Tapia-Salazar, 30, found hung in staged suicide, League City, 31 May 2024

The 30-year-old mother of four was found partially submerged in the water. Detectives do not believe Salazar-Tapia hanged herself. Instead, they believe her body was staged to appear as though she had after she died elsewhere.

The crime scene was near a boat where she resides with her boyfriend James Hart.
There are surveillance cameras in the area but they have been tampered with.

"After further inspection, investigators now believe the 30-year-old's body positioned in a way that made it look as though she killed herself, and the suspect staged her suicide. Police also have identified two persons of interests in the case."

"A second woman has been found dead at the same League City marina where a mother of four was found hanged from a dock three weeks ago.
The League City Police Department said investigators have not ruled out a possible connection.

When Salazar-Tapia was found suspended from the dock, one of her arms was unusually extended above her head.

Cox said this led police to believe she died elsewhere and that she was in another position when rigor mortis set in. He said they believe her body was then staged to make it appear as though she committed suicide by hanging herself.

Police have not released the identity of the second woman found dead on a boat docked at the marina on July 19. They are waiting on autopsy results but preliminarily believe her death may have been an overdose."
