  • Other: Medical - He has Addison's Disease (adrenal insufficiency) and requires daily medication.
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Woodard was last seen in College Station, Texas on May 20, 1991. He drove out to the Navasota River in eastern Brazos County, Texas to go hunting and never returned. He has never heard from again. His blue 1983 Buick Park Avenue was found abandoned on May 22 near the end of Long Trussel Road, a quarter of a mile from the Navasota River. Few details are available regarding his disappearance, but foul play is suspected. His whereabouts remain unknown.

I have the impression that he committed suicide... I don't know why but I think he was depressed about something... without telling anyone he may have suffered inside... and having access to weapons as he was a hunter he could have easily shot himself in an area remote without anyone ever finding it....

Good morning everyone,

Several years ago for our 40th Anniversary we ran a 40 cases in 40 days campaign, many of those cases were cold cases, and this case was the first of that campaign. Attached is the poster from that event.

We just did a press release announcing the creation of a new podcast by Brazos County Crime Stoppers called "Justice Prevails" that would take listeners behind the scenes with the investigators of these cases, and this would be our first case. We hope to have it recorded and available in the next few weeks. I honestly have no idea if we'll ever get closure for the family, but we welcome any ideas or information that might help.

According to Crime Stoppers, Jerry Gayle Woodard went missing on May 20, 1991 in eastern Brazos County. His 1983 Buick Park Avenue was reportedly found abandoned at the end of Long Trussel Road near the Navasota River.

Crime Stoppers said the case is still open, and they still hope to bring closure to Woodard's family.
