Relax Astro. Her name has been posted multiple times, and now that the story is in MSM, anyone can find her name.

The link was posted because the mothers name was Lori, and one of the children names was Jessica. Ngaio was inferring that the mother could have wanted to get away from her life considering two of her children burned to death.

The tone of some of the posts, and how other posters are treating newcomers is pushing me away.

They're posting links to high school yearbook pix of people they "think" look like LER or might be related to her. And they're giving the people's full names and where they live and who they married. Interestingly, some aspects of sleuthing (in a roundabout way) the Long Island Serial Killer/Shannan Gilbert case involves ACI Treatment Center "The nation's oldest private addiction treatment center" located in NY. ACI/AREBA is associated with (?based on?) Synanon. So, obviously some aspects of Synanon are alive, well and definitely thriving!

I clicked on the links for the Texas business womens groups again. LEK appears to have slimmed down since the pic of her in pink holding a baby, as supplied to the Seattle times. The idea that LEK had joined the Texas Business Womens organisation, and then became the secretary for her group, doesnt really work with the description being portrayed in the Seattle times. Expanding her business and social networks dont sound like the actions of a paranoid crazy woman who was barely functioning.

I agree! There is something really unsettling that she joined the group, and, was even named as part of the board, just 6 months before she committed suicide. I think she looks a bit uncomfortable in some of the pictures. Like she is wearing the clothes that she thinks would be appropriate for the occasion, but she is not really comfortable in those clothes. But, that is not an indication of mental state, just more about being confident in who you are.

Im excited now to look this up. I always read through other posters comments before delving into googling or researching various people/places/things.

There is speculation that LEK had a nose job. I only state it's "speculation" because there's no proof or Dr that has said with definite words that she indeed has had rhinoplasty. I think it would be pretty easy to tell if she did, which is why I'm not too sure that it's been left as an assumption. I think her ex inlaws or ex husband had said she did but most of us take their opinions with a grain of salt. I personally have no opinion on it since the tip of her nose slants rather drastically to one side. However, a lot of people need tip revisions after getting rhinoplasty because of scar tissue, healing issues or simply not being 'happy' with the decrease in length.

Are the opinions in the Seattle Times article based on the assumptions and words of LEK's in-laws (specifically her mother in-law)?

I take it her husband hasn't given much of an interview since he rarely speaks for himself.

Do either of you feel the word "matronly" used as description of her clothing is more of a personal dig rather than the reality of what she did wear? If so, why do you feel that way?

I'm asking these questions because both have bugged me from the get go. I really do not understand what matronly would mean when applied to a woman who by all photographic evidence seemed to be rather youthful in her smile and dressed conservatively, rather the opposite of what I'd picture in my mind to be matronly. I sort of take that to mean ill fitting clothing that's out of style etc.

Like both of you, I agree that the description of a woman who was socially outcasted and "frumpy" is a stark contrast from a beaming lady attending business conferences. She obviously is ambitious, I think we all can agree with that. She pays attention to detail, tends to apply herself in her ventures and networked to make them all flourish. She couldn't have been that distraught and paranoid if she's in attendance to social gatherings of many - where it looks as though she was on a panel (?) of speakers maybe.. but none the less, she posed in photos and seems to be caring on with others. She looks physically put together and healthy. Granted, she is thinner than in the photo with the child but it appears as though the baby is very young (we only see the back of the head but I can't image the infant being more than 3 months). So I assume that's her child and probably soon after the birth, of course she would be a bit heavier there than she was towards the end of her life.

I'm starting to pick apart the articles and take out opinions that are being posed as factual information. I just do not know how trustworthy any of her last day accounts are, when they come from people that from the tone of things - didn't get along well with LEK. The article is intriguing but it also has many negative things strewn about.

I don't know which Jacqueline you are referring to, but if you look at the post directly above your post you will see that it is widely believed that she had a nose job....

If there was cleft palate repair, it doesn't look to have extended very far into the lip area (there is almost no upper lip, however, and her smile is slightly askew, and her husband said somewhere that she had a dental plate.) Whether the cleft affected other areas, as someone has mentioned a rather large photographic anomaly in a few of her pics, right in the middle of her forehead above the nose bridge, I probably couldn't venture so far as to say. She could have bumped her forehead at a separate time, or we could just be noticing the flash effect in that instance. I guess I just have a tendency to notice people's features in my spare time.

There is a 1977 photo here of a girl who could be 8 to 10 years old, making her 18 to 20 in 1977. She is standing near the casket . Reminds me of the hair on our JD in the first photo ID as well as the general structure of her face.

Glad you mentioned the 'bump' on forehead which also caught my eye, unsure if it was a very large blemish or not.
On another note, if not for autopsy results on Jane Doe, I would have suspected that she was transgendered and covering up for that.
