FORT BLISS, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Officials with Fort Bliss are looking for a missing 21-year-old soldier.

Fort Bliss officials are looking for Pfc. Shemar Messam went missing and failed to report for duty on Tuesday.

Messam was last heard from about 5:20 p.m.

In the last 24 hours, the 1st Armored Division has tried to locate Messam by phone and went to his off-post apartment on multiple occasions but were not able to find him.

The 1st Armored Division is continuing to make calls to his wife, brothers and family but has so far been unsuccessful.

If anyone has any information on Messam's whereabouts you are asked to contact Fort Bliss at usarmy.bliss.1-ad.mbx.1-ad-bliss-pao@army.mil.

This article states that Shemar was last heard from on the 29th.

So they've not been able to speak with anyone in his family? :confused: That's really odd. I hope all is okay with Shemar.
exactly what I thought. Not that family doesn't know where he is but they can't get a hold of his wife, brother or family. Very odd.

Messam contacted authorities.

The first armored division is reporting that he is safe.
