I’m local to this case and pretty much nobody around here expected her to plead guilty. I am shocked by this.
I think it was January 2022 that Judge Albright denied CA's motion to throw out her confession and the indictment (without explanation), and still, the defense continued filing various motions -- with the court recently extending the response date for the prosecutor to the last sealed motion.

Hopefully, these motions will soon be unsealed and we might have some insight into her decision.

In what might be the only rendering of justice in the slaying of Army Spc. Vanessa Guillen, a Killeen woman has pleaded guilty to lesser charges for her involvement in the aftermath of the Fort Hood soldier's death.

Cecily Aguilar, 24, is the former girlfriend of Spc. Aaron Robinson, the man Army investigators believe bludgeoned Guillen to death on the post in April 2020. Authorities believe the pair worked together to dismember and dispose of Guillen's body near the Leon River in Bell County shortly after her death.

[..]

Aguilar was charged in July 2020 with three felony counts of conspiracy to tamper with evidence. She first pleaded not guilty on July 14, 2020, but she needed to do so again after a series of attempts by her defense team to have her confession suppressed.

On Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to one count of accessory after the fact and three counts of making a false statement. Aguilar now faces a combined maximum prison sentence of 30 years.

11/29/22

The alleged girlfriend of the man suspected of murdering and dismembering Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen has pleaded guilty to involvement in the crime.

Cecily Aguilar, 22, waived her right to a trial on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to a single count of accessory to murder and three counts of making false statements.

She was the only person charged in connection to Guillen's murder, after police said the 20-year-old saw a photo of Aguliar, a married woman, on Aaron Robinson's phone, prompting the army specialist to bludgeon her to death and bury her remains.

11/29/22

Guillen was a Houston-native soldier, training at Fort Hood before being murdered in 2020.

Cecily Aguilar waived her right to a trial by pleading guilty to a single count of accessory after the fact and three counts of making a false statement.

She faces 30 years in prison with a $1 million fine and an additional 12-year supervised leave after her sentence.

8/4/22: #127: Order to set hearing. Motions hearing on 8/16/22. 8/16/22 Update: Aguilar’s attorneys, Ashley Askari & Lewis Gainor of the Federal Public Defender’s Office, asked U.S. District Judge Alan Albright to order government prosecutors to file a document called a bill of particulars to clarify what the attorneys described as their confusion over specific allegations against Aguilar. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Frazier told Albright that the government has provided all the information it is required to furnish the defense through the discovery process. He said the defense has more than adequate notice of what Aguilar is charged with & that the allegations in the indictment track the language in federal statutes. Judge Alan Albright denied requests from attorneys for Aguilar to require prosecutors to provide more specific information about allegations she conspired with her boyfriend to dispose of the remains of Fort Hood Spc. Vanessa Guillen in 2020. Motions brought up by defense. Aguilar is accused of "destroying records, documents & other objects". Defense attorneys argued the charge is in "violation of due process rights" because they said it's unclear what record, document & object she is being accused of destroying. They also questioned count seven, which claims she destroyed or covered up "information contained in a Google account" which belonged to Aaron Robinson, the soldier Aguilar said murdered Guillen. With Google owning hundreds of companies, dozens of which would need an account, defense attorneys said the charge doesn't include what exactly was altered. Prosecutors had a chance to respond in court. They said Guillen's body is considered the evidence Aguilar allegedly destroyed. They also said they have "information contained in [Robinson's] Google account" & a search warrant for his phone as proof of changes she made to the account. The judge denied both motions from Aguilar's defense team. After Albright denied the defense motions, he scheduled Aguilar’s trial to begin on Jan. 23, 2023.
8/30/22: #130: Motion: Sealed order on motion. 9/29/22: Motion (#131): Motion for Leave to file sealed document. #132: Sealed Motion. 10/11/22: #133: Extension of time to file response/reply. 10/12/22: Order of Motion for extension of time to file response/reply. 10/25/22: Order (#134) Sealed Order on motion. 11/14/22: (#135) Extension of time to file response/reply. 11/16/22: Order on Motion for extension of time. Order GRANTING #135 Motion for Extension of Time to file response/reply as to Aguilar. A response to the Defendant's motion is due by 12/14/22. Entered by Judge Alan D Albright.
11/29/22 Update: Plea hearing. Aguilar waived her right to a trial on Tuesday & has plead guilty to 1 count of accessory to murder after the fact & three counts of making a false statement or representation per plea deal. A judge dismissed an attempt from her defense team to throw out the confession, stating that investigators didn’t “first read her Miranda rights.” The U.S. Attorney’s Office said that a sentencing date has not yet been set. Aguilar is facing a maximum possible penalty of 30 years in prison plus three years of supervised release along with a $1 million fine. No sentencing date yet.

This news comes after Aguilar pleaded guilty last month in connection to the disappearance and murder of Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen. She was the only one charged in this case.

Feds have a date calendared. However, it should come as no surprise if the April hearing continued. Aguilar wouldn't be the first defendant to file a motion to protest the pre-sentencing investigation report presented to the Judge before sentencing.

Happy to help!

Not exactly justice for Vanessa Guillen and her family, but as close as we're likely to see.

MOO prison with counseling and regular life rhythms is likely a much better existence than she was leading. Honestly her actions were depraved, but the actions of a desperate hanger on.

The actual murderer was allowed to escape at all levels of the military above VG. They deserve more consequences like hers.

From the Sherri Papini case, I recall finding there are less than 30 federal prisons for women in the US and the majority are minimum security. Her chances of staying in Tx are better than not.

WASHINGTON — A post office in southeast Houston will now bear the name of Army Spc. Vanessa Guillén, an addition to the legacy of the soldier whose death sparked a movement to reform the military justice system.

President Joe Biden on Thursday night signed legislation renaming the post office at 5302 Galveston Road for Guillén, a Houston native whose reports of sexual harassment by a superior officer were ignored by her chain of command at Fort Hood in the months before she was killed.

“This local post office building will now provide Houston-area residents with another special way to remember our local hero Spc. Vanessa Guillén in our everyday lives," said U.S. Rep. Sylvia Garcia, a Houston Democrat who pushed the legislation with Republican U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn.

“We can never forget the life, service and sacrifice of Spc. Vanessa Guillén, or the pain her family endured," Cruz said.

I read a partial article - need subscription to read it - but Aguilar sentencing might be delayed. She is still on the Judge's schedule for April 5. But I shall check a few days before than.

This is all I can see:
A Killeen woman who pleaded guilty to federal charges in the cover-up of the murder of Army Spc. Vanessa Guillen is set to be sentenced next week; however, the hearing could be delayed if a federal judge approves a motion to postpone the hearing.

As expected and opined earlier that the defendant would likely protest something stated in the presentence report. Anything to delay going to the big house.

Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 32(e)(2) requires that the probation officer “must give the presentence report to the defendant, the defendant's attorney, and an attorney for the government at least 35 days before sentencing unless the defendant waives this minimum period.”

ETA: Yes -- confirming she wants a psychiatrist to testify prior to her sentencing. Reminds me of the Alaska (Ken Manzanares) sentencing...
