Reference to Routine:
The routine, according to Olson, had Samuel with his girlfriend, Balboa. Balboa told KPRC 2 she brought Samuel with her to her mother’s home in southwest Houston Thursday morning.

“I was going to take Sam to school when his mother showed up with a police officer, or what I was under the impression to be a police officer, and they demanded me to release Sam,” Balboa said.

When asked why the boy was with Balboa, Olson said she would help watch the boy because he didn’t have a car and worked long hours in construction.

On Thursday, charging documents revealed that Balboa’s roommate told investigators that he was called by Balboa on May 10 and was told that Samuel was dead, according to court records. The roommate said he left for work and later returned to the residence and found Samuel laying on the bed unresponsive, according to court documents. He said he noticed bruising on the child’s body, according to court documents.

The roommate said that he and Balboa placed the body of the child in the bathtub where he remained for two days, according to court records. On May 13, the roommate said he bought duct tape and a plastic tote from Wal-Mart and that he and Balboa wrapped Samuel’s body in a plastic sheet, placed it into a tote bag and put the body in his vehicle, according to court documents. He said he and Balboa drove to a storage unit located at 16650 Highway 3 in Webster, Texas, according to court documents.

"Balboa's roommate, Ben**min R**era, told police that it was about May 10 when Balboa called him to say Samuel was dead. He says he came home to the apartment in the 15600 block of the Gulf Freeway and found Samuel bruised, and unresponsive on the bed.....

During the search for Samuel on Monday, Balboa reportedly called a friend and told him she needed help because she had been in a fight. The man picked her up in Cleveland, Texas, at a Walmart parking lot. They drove to the storage unit in Webster, picked up a storage container with a foul odor and drove to the Best Western in Jasper, according to court documents."

Miller was with the Olson family following news that a body was found.

The report states the roommate told authorities Balboa called him on May 10 and informed him about Samuel’s death. The roommate then rushed home, where he said he saw Samuel’s body on a bed and observed some bruises as well. Shortly afterward, the roommate and Balboa, according to the affidavit placed Samuel’s "corpse in a bathtub, where he remained for two days."

A couple of days later, the roommate told officials he bought some duct tape and a plastic tote bag at an area Wal-Mart, where they later placed Samuel’s body. Police paperwork claims the two took Samuel’s body (now in the tote bag) at a storage unit near their home.... Responding officers claim they knocked on the room’s door several times before getting a spare key to the room, which was listed under an entirely different person’s name.

On May 27, the boy’s father called the police to report the boy missing. According to the court documents, the boy’s father said Balboa called him around 11:40 a.m. to tell him. Police say the father stated that once he heard this story, he contacted Samuel’s mother, who said that Samuel was not with her.

Missing Persons investigators made contact with Samuel’s mother. Police say investigators were provided with evidence that Samuel’s mother was at her residence throughout the entire morning of May 27.

WEBSTER, Texas – The body which is believed to be that of Samuel Olson arrived at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences Thursday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department.

Houston police said the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will perform an autopsy to identify the body and the manner of death.

That complicated dynamic led Dalton Olson’s family to initially believe Balboa’s tale about Samuel being picked up by his mother without warning. Veenstra said it wasn’t until Monday—when Balboa disappeared in the middle of the search for Samuel—that the young father began to realize something was amiss.

“That’s when the reality of the situation started being processed, ‘Hold on we may have been wrong about her,’” Veenstra said.

“He used to call me ‘Super Mommy.’” We interviewed Theresa Balboa Monday, while police were looking for #SamuelOlson, her boyfriend’s son. Today, she was charged with tampering with evidence after a body believed to be the missing boy was found in a motel.

edit: I was able to read the indictment. SO accused of hitting DO with a car on 5/31/2020. RSBM It wasn’t gelling with all other statements that she didn’t have access after Jan 2020 when DO didn’t return him after visit. It’s odd none of the attorneys mentioned this.

Apparently SO did know where DO was. Looks like this incident was at Samuels bday last year."

The Bond Conditions, signed 29Sep20 at link, she couldn't even communicate with SO without an authorized valid lawful custody order.
