Just catching up with this and this is my first post ever so I hope I won't break any rules. I lived in Haringey up until the end of January and I'm familiar with the area.
The Haringey Ladder is a multicultural area, home to Turkish diaspora. I wouldn't even notice a couple like them in the community.
There are 4 train stations within approximately 10 minutes' walk in each direction, Hornsey, Wood Green, Haringey Green Lanes and Finsbury Park.
Down the road, where Seven Sisters Road meet Green Lanes is Manor House. This area is known for the warehouse community, basically massive warehouses converted to shared houses, popular with artistic, creative people who don't wish to stay in conventional housing.
Green Lanes is busy 24h, full of family-owned restaurants and small shops that welcome cash paying customers and charity shops in every block where you can source baby clothes.
But most importantly Green Lanes has many private doctors that cater for people who (for whatever reason) don't have access to the NHS services. (Just speculating) Allison Road makes great sense if they were looking for medical assistance and/or shelter. Right on the corner of Allison Road and Green Lanes is the very popular Medi Park Clinic. They offer Gynecology and Pediatrics appointments. I've never used private medical services in the UK, so I don't know how this works. Just opposite the clinic there is a church that always has something going on, from soul kitchen events to community BBQs to handing over supplies for the homeless.
I guess my point is that they could have stayed in Haringey without being noticed for quite some time, it's unlikely they would stand out in this area. Also, plenty of solicitors in Green Lanes if someone is looking for legal advice.

I hope the links work, I'm not sure how to do this.
