I'll comment, the hiring of this company means that just like us, nobody has a clue.

Will they have live feed data from that night? No, not unless there happened to be a UAV recording....

Will they have the ability to look for disturbed earth/ significant footfall changes to locations on an hour by hour historical basis? Yes.

Will they use data mining algorithm's to spot links in social media postings relating to the location of "places of interest"? Yes.

Are they an odd choice? Yes, unless there is a Marham link.

I'm confused. Someone has posted that an intelligence company has now been hired by the family and people are still coming up with random theories.....no comments on this MASSIVE news?

As far as I can see this company will surely be looking at satellite imagery seeing as that is what they do and be examining it.

I have no idea about what the capabilities of modern satellites are. But surely if you hire a company like this then they have already surely told the family that they have satellite footage from that September day?

Not sure they will be able to see a male walking in a dark alley way though?

Maybe be able to monitor vehicle movements and see where they go?

Der . Over my head.

Interesting though isn't it. Hi tech image mappers, usually military applications.
In news in past for eg. in DTelegraph to give an opinion on whether a factory in Iran was active based on satellite images - so they will be tracking/ wide aerial searches - there's me thinking good old fashioned street intelligence & motive investigation.

Let's hope they can see through walls, roofs and it pays off. The satellite tie ups that they have means they can analyse small changes in the landscape etc.

By tomorrow Midsommers will have phoned them and got the rationale!

i did db, a few pages back

- it seems obvious that there are lies being told - who by tho? i keep thinking this is more connected to someone who knew corrie. i know he was not gay - that seems perfectly obvious by the amount of girls and young women he seems to date. however he is also very <modsnip> flamboyant. it seems blatantly obvious that he could have been targetted by oaf like bullying men who do not like his high profile existance on this earth. we all see things differently but imo everything points to this being closer to home than anyone is currently saying

This vehicle that had no reason to be in that area.......can the Police not do any forensics of that vehicle? as well as all the vehicles that went in that area. Surely they have done this as they can forensically check the horseshoe area and the bin lorry, so why not the cars?

Like what you've done there but can i just ask in relation to the diagram of cameras from FC website:
Are there not 2 other cameras ( near McD's) that can catch the dark figure as he continues his journey? Are you thinking that this image truly is the best the police have got of this figure? ( Logic says maybe yes. )

I was previously assuming that she had disregarded him being Corrie as she had also seen a follow-up photo of this figure and so she could be definite it was not him.

My bold - I probably need to go back and find the names of these 2 cameras and whether they are private/council/footage was collected OR I've missed something simple.

PS. Dark figure - He's carrying a skateboard now! ;)

ETA - OK I have found that pdf now
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/319850/response/802518/attach/5/Bury%20St%20Edmunds.pdf

and bumping up shire's & polo's posts in relation to the attached image , so it's all in one place

McDonalds - from inside but no footage that I have seen

I really do think that TW's image could be wrong OR there is a CCTV camera inside McDonalds AND a CCTV camera inside Adnams shop. Adnams shop is 43b as far as I'm aware? Anybody clarify please. If my image is wrong I need to delete and amend it accordingly ASAP.

After my initial shock reading your thoughts, some good points as a strategy. It could explain the muddle I raised in my last post. London is not that far away and he may have discussed the option with one person and he could have been secretly wishing a different life for some time. If he is impulsive would he just go. JMO

I would say yes from the information I've seen so far and getting a feel for his personality. A 'guy on the edge' is how I would describe him. Winging it, reckless, proud are other words I'd use.

Bit of a theory re: arranging lifts home.

Maybe the 5 friends had lost C whilst he socialised in one of the bars and assumed he'd not find them again for a lift home. This would mean they'd only need 1 designated driver and they could leave one car behind to fetch in the morning. Meaning one person who was supposed to be staying sober could now have a drink, (quite the prospect at 23). Then he finds his friends again and they tell him and he now knows a lift home from them isn't possible. That would explain why he's not tried contacting any of them. (I'm assuming he didn't because we haven't been told)

Exactly what I proposed.

Good observations. Great work (once again) with the phone companies BTW.

I can't remember if we're allowed to link to crowdfunding sites here on WS so I won't but just to add, superfluously , that donations have been made today whilst I was expecting to see it closed now.

Re the phone. Police will have already done a charter request on the usage which will give them all the calls and texts sent via the network. If he was using a 3rd party app such as WhatsApp then this won't show up. Same if he had an iPhone and used iMessage as opposed to SMS.

Forbes McKenzie, head of the company as discussed upthread, chatting on news about imagery analysis before & after a typhoon event

There are clearly positives with using this company - no treading on police toes ( unlike a traditional PI team) so can let Suffolk police get on with it and of course this just could not be justifiably funded for a Missing persons/wouldn't happen.

Looks like it's only got a few hours to go. Says 4 hrs to go on the page.

It's really hard to grasp what the facts are as they keeping changing. One clear example is that from day one he couldn't leave the horseshoe on foot without being seen, without being in a vehicle. The family now admit he could have left this area on foot. The fact that the family presented so many of their theories to the public, including Corrie walking to base, dismissing other theories outright and presenting what was considered normal to them for Corrie to do, may have directed the initial investigation in certain ways. Instead of being open to all options, the family discounted some very early on, while the police have said they are keeping all lines of enquiry open. If the intelligence is there to discount theories, absolutely, but we now have Focus 12, burnt out car, various CCTV, abduction re Marnham connection, coming into the public domain this past week and 20th December findcorrie.co.uk. As each one is presented as areas the police have not done their job in (reading all of Tony Wringe's updates on findcorrie.co.uk), they are then being eliminated in following updates. So for me Suffolk Police and the MIT can't be that incompetent. It would have been very difficult for Corrie to come back if he just took time out for reasons unknown to his family, as he was presumed deceased or captured very early on. There was one appeal made by Tony Wringe in the very early days, if he was AWOL to get in touch. Even though Corrie's disappearance was out of character, the door was closed on Corrie having any problems whatsoever, and also what Corrie would and wouldn't do. I don't see how a family in general can possibly know everything about a son or daughter, living away from home, unless they choose to share every single thought, including problems, any possible unhappiness with career paths, and relationships etc. I accept that they will have a lot of information from his computer and mobile phone. I am still staying with an option of spontaneous AWOL and I was in the belief he got out of the horseshoe unseen walking, got a lift part of the way and then natural causes death. Looking at everything, presented and discussed, I cannot rule out spontaneous AWOL. JMOO and we all have our own theories and thoughts, from the information we have available to us.
- it is actually quite irritating to hear peoples suggestions which are then shot out of the air and dismissed, only for a week or two later to have them brought up again as new ideas. is this how the police operate or is their other influence behind these tactics? i deal in problem solving at work and we are trained to listen to every bit of input even though we are not in agreement. as i am often " the one in charge" it is often the ideas from the weaker in the team, who actually come up with the brightest ideas and the out of the box thinking. any others got a view on the case from this angle?

Photo snipped by me.

I assume forensically searching a general public car requires a warrant which would require proof of reasonable need. Whether that's obtainable or not..?

And no I don't think he's wearing mascara

I think today is the last day so will close at midnight

In terms of the new pi company hired I have no real opinion. There tw friends or ex colleagues so they haven't been picked based on what they can bring to the investigation or because they're the best at what they do. Way to keep the money close to your chest springs to mind. I'm not impressed by the choice.

And another one, why does the phone have to have been in that bin? It could have been put in at another location within the Bury mast.

It could very well have. We know however that Corrie had his phone at Hughes at 0308 and walked towards the next visible and obvious bin in the 'Horseshoe'. The bin lorry times match Corrie's phone movements to within one and a half minutes. There are no Biffa bins from Hughes to the 'Horseshoe' except in the 'Horseshoe'. It doesn't take a great leap of imagination to link the two... :/

The next collection was Waitrose in Mildenhall IIRC.
