A man charged with murder after a woman died at a residential address is the husband of the deceased, Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

Keith Bettison has been charged with the murder of his wife Ildiko in Chessington.

The 71-year-old of Ranyard Close, Chessington, was charged on Saturday (October 31).

He is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Monday (November 2).

A murder investigation was launched after Ildiko Bettison, aged 48, was found fatally injured at an address in Raynard Close shortly after 1am on Saturday (October 31).

Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended, however despite their best efforts, the 48-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Superintendent Richard Smith said on Saturday (October 31): “Firstly, my thoughts are with the woman who has lost her life and her friends and family.

“This is being treated as an isolated incident and we don’t believe there to be any wider risk to people living and working in the area.

“Local officers from our neighbourhood policing teams will be on duty throughout the weekend, working hard to keep the people of London safe.”

Is there any news about the result of the trial, as it was to begin on December 13, or is it to wait until December 2021?

Probably December 2021, the article I posted was from Tuesday this week, so it hasn't already happened.

A woman taunted her husband for not being able to get an erection before he strangled her to death, a court heard.

Keith Bettison, 73, allegedly murdered 48-year-old Ildiko Bettison after tormenting her with a ‘squeaky voice’ like Mr Punch at their home in Chessington, Surrey.

The couple were ‘big drinkers’ and their relationship had been deteriorating after Bettison lost his job, the Old Bailey heard.

Bettison was sacked for gross misconduct for crashing a bus while reversing six months before the killing.

The couple would drink at least a bottle of spirits and Mrs Bettison often drank a large gin and tonic before getting out of bed.

Their daughter Zsuzsika Bettison, 25, told the court the family had gone to several counselling sessions relating to her mother’s alcoholism in the months leading up to her death.
