***Urgent appeal after Boston murder inquiry launched***

Officers investigating the disappearance of Ilona Golabek are now launching a murder inquiry.

We have appealed previously for sightings of 27-year-old Ilona, however she has not been seen since November 9. A body has not yet been found.

We believe Ilona was in the Wide Bargate / Red Lion Street area of Boston at around 11.55 pm on November 9 and later in Strait Bargate, heading towards the Cattle Market, at 12.13 am into the 10 November. Ilona was wearing three quarter length black leggings and an oversized hooded sweatshirt with a yellow triangle pattern across the chest.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Myszczyszyn, of East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: “We are appealing to the people who were out in Boston around midnight on the 9 / 10 November. If you think you saw Ilona, or you have captured her on your dash cam, we are urging you to call us on 101. It’s vital that we have every piece of information available that could assist the investigation.”

Two men, aged 32 and 40, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody.

Ilona has a beautiful young daughter and a nice fiancé. I never thought she would be willingly away from her family for so long.

This sounds more urgent than LE's usual appeals for info. I wonder how they knew who to arrest and what gives them the idea Ilona has been murdered?

Someone who claims to be Ilona's friend and neighbour is saying that the person shown in the latest pictures is not Ilona, according to a post on the Lincolnshire Police Facebook site. I wish the police would release the moving CCTV footage, where it is available, rather than just a still image.

A man has been charged with murder following the disappearance of Ilona Golabeck.

Kamil Ranoszek, aged 40, of Wormgate in Boston, has today been charged and remanded in custody and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates on Wednesday 24th November 2021.

Ranoszek, and a 32-year-old man were both arrested on Sunday 21st November following a missing person enquiry into the 27 year olds disappearance during which evidence was gathered that resulted in a murder investigation being launched. Sadly, Ilona’s body has not yet been located and we have teams searching various locations in Boston.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Myszczyszyn, of East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: “We are continuing to search for Ilona and our thoughts are with her family at this very difficult time.

“We arrested Kamil Ranoszek on November 21st on suspicion of murder and he has been today, 23rd November been charged. The second arrested man, aged 32, has been released under investigation.

“We understand this may be a concern for the people of Boston, and while I am unable to disclose much information at this stage in our investigation, I can say that we believe those involved are known to one another and this is an isolated incident.”

We are continuing to appeal for any sightings of Ilona, or anyone who may have any information to contact us in one of the below ways:

DECEMBER 23, 2021

  • Kamil Ranoszek, aged 40, of Wormgate, Boston, is accused of murdering Ilona Golabek, 27, on a date between November 8 and 11 this year.
  • ...entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge
  • ...due to stand trial at Lincoln Crown Court in the week beginning April 25 next year. The trial is estimated to last up to three weeks.

The body of missing Ilona Golabek has been recovered from Witham Way Country Park.

On Saturday 19 February, a report was made to our force control room that suspected human remains had been located in the Tattershall Road park.

Officers attended and recovered bones which were later confirmed to be human. A specialist team began examinations of three ‘areas of interest’ and further human remains were located.

The remains were sent off for DNA tests to be carried out. These have concluded that the remains were that of Ilona Golabek.

Ilona, aged 27, was reported as missing from Boston on 9 November. Following an extensive investigation, we launched a murder inquiry. This led to the arrest of Kamil Ranoszek, aged 40, of Wormgate in Boston, on November 23 23 November. He was charged with murder and has been remanded in custody awaiting trial.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt said: “We have located some body parts concealed in bags in the park since we started searching the area on 19 February. We remain in the park and are continuing to search the location. Ilona’s family are aware and out our thoughts are with them. We are continuing our appeal for witnesses, and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in or around the park to contact us”.

We would like to thank the public for their continued support with our investigation. We will remain in the park for the remainder of the week.

As part of our initial investigation, we released a CCTV image of a woman who matched the description of Ilona, we can now confirm that this was not Ilona.

A man accused of murdering and mutilating his estranged partner attended a police station with her elderly father to report her missing, a court has heard.
Body parts belonging to mother-of-one Ilona Golabek, 27, were found dumped in a park, jurors were told.
Kamil Ranoszek, 40, is on trial accused of her murder.
Lincolnshire Police initially treated her disappearance as a missing person inquiry.
Mr Ranoszek attended Boston police station with a friend on 11 November last year.
Later that day, Mr Ranoszek returned to the station with Ms Golabek's concerned, elderly father, Lincoln Crown Court was told.
Gordon Aspden KC, prosecuting, said Mr Ranoszek had in fact murdered Ms Golabek two days earlier in the sitting room of their ground floor flat in Wormgate, Boston.
Mr Aspden said Mr Ranoszek repeatedly beat Ms Golabek with a weapon, probably a hammer, after she gave him two weeks' notice to leave their home.
She then openly began contacting other men using the dating app Tinder.
The jury heard officers made a number of visits to the couple's home in the days after Mr Ranoszek reported Ms Golabek missing.
On one occasion, an officer noticed Ms Golabek's keys were still in the flat, Mr Aspden told the jury. Her passport was also not missing.
The jury was previously told Ms Golabek was a Polish national who had arrived in the UK as a teenager.
Mr Aspden asked the jury to consider why a Polish national would have disappeared without these items, and as a "doting mother", why she would have left behind a three-year-old daughter.
During police investigations, officers visited the house the pair shared their daughter on various occasions, the court heard.
Mr Ranoszek told officers that Ms Golabek collected £2 coins, which had gone missing with her, the court heard.
The prosecution claim Mr Ranoszek cut up his partner's body after bludgeoning her to death, and then cycled to Witham Way Country Park where he disposed of her remains.
The trial continues.
