I have never been to Walberton, it sounds like a busy village. I know Slindon though and it is a very quiet Miss Marple village where it is unusual to see anybody at all outside, so I think she would really stand out there. Ted’s hunch about the woods is looking strong to me :(

This was the last sighting early on Tuesday 14 February (Valentine’s Day) of 62-year-old Laurel who is considered to be very vulnerable.

Police comb private land in search for missing Laurel Aldridge

Sussex Police dog unit vehicles were present at Slindon Cricket Club where actor’s sister-in-law was last seen on February 14.

One resident, who did not want to be named, told the PA news agency: “The police presence has been very much noticed, it’s the talk of the village.

[...]

“I suppose she went out of the village as there’s lots of woodland towards the Downs, so if she wanted to hide away there she’s got plenty of places she would never be found."

The family of Laurel Aldridge, who went missing from her home in Walberton six days ago (February 14), has described her as a ‘warm’ and ‘creative’ woman, who they simply want to see returned home.

“All of us are thinking about her alone out there in the night,” said son-in-law Charles Wheeler. “We just want to get her back in the warm, surrounded by people that she loves.”

Mr Wheeler’s comments come after brother-in-law and Hollywood star Mackenzie Crook, known for his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean films and The Office, urged members of the public to keep an eye out for the missing 62-year-old.

Missing Laurel Aldridge is ‘probably’ not in her home village, a member of the parish council has said, as the search enters its eighth day.

Mrs Aldridge, sister-in-law of The Office actor Mackenzie Crook, was reported missing on February 14.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday Mr Crook said he and the family are “clutching at straws” but remain “determined and driven” to find her.

Mr Peppler, a retired police officer, told the PA news agency: “I’m confident that if Mrs Aldridge was still in the village she would have been found by now.

“I think she’s more likely to be in the Slindon area, it’s quite vast and highly wooded.

“The police haven’t asked for volunteers to join the search, but we’ve offered the services of the parish council to assist if we can.

“The village remains concerned for Laurel’s welfare as one of our own, and residents are keeping an eye out for her and hoping she will be recovered safe and well.”

'She missed her fifth chemo session last Tuesday and we think that is what has triggered some sort of crisis in her and she has gone off for a long walk somewhere.'

Does this mean she missed 1 session (her fifth one) or did she miss 5 sessions? Sorry but this is confusing me.
