Police have issued an urgent public appeal to help find a missing pensioner.

Officers are 'becoming increasingly concerned' for the welfare of Stuart Beresford, 73, Greater Manchester Police said on Saturday night.

Mr Beresford was last seen in Worsley, Salford, on July 31.

His car was later found in the Irlam area.

Police said they don't believe Mr Beresford is familiar with the area and may be 'lost and confused'.

Some comments on the police appeal link below indicate he may have been seen in Mottram area on 31st, but that was over a week ago now. Very worrying.

3 weeks now this elderly gentleman has been missing for. Not seen any official updates, though a number of people asking after him on the various missing appeal sites.

There are comments that family stating he has been found deceased, no update on GMP thread if this is so.

As indicated above, sadly the gentleman was found deceased. Presumably no further notice per family wishes.
