''Jamie Sansom, a teacher from Newport, Wales, was taken to hospital this morning after reports of a stabbing, local sources said.''

''Tewkesbury School is a secondary school for pupils aged between 11 and 18. Around 1,300 pupils attend the non-selective school. It was downgraded from “Good” to “Requires Improvement” by Ofsted after its last inspection in October.''

From the live reporting:

Ocone says that police got two calls this morning - from the school and from the ambulance service - saying a male teacher had been stabbed in a corridor, and he suffered a single stab wound.

He is now in a stable condition, Ocone says.

A teacher who was stabbed at school is "recovering well" after leaving hospital.
The trust that runs Tewkesbury Academy said the teacher, who was attacked just after 09:00 BST on Monday, was not intervening in a student fight.
The Gloucestershire school reopened earlier after "careful consultation with police", a spokesman said.
A teenager is being questioned after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The Tewkesbury Academy spokesman said: "Following careful assessment and consultation with police, Tewkesbury Academy reopened today.

A 15-year-old boy has admitted stabbing a teacher in a school corridor.

Maths teacher Jamie Sansom was taken to hospital with a single wound after being attacked at Tewkesbury Academy in Gloucestershire on July 10.
Firearms officers arrested the suspect two hours later about three miles (4.8km) away, and a knife was seized.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted one charge of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent at Bristol Magistrates Court.
He had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing a bladed article following the attack.
