What an a-hole saying that about an air rifle. I'm already seeing similar stuff online. Meanwhile, TV reporting shooter is dead and a rally attendee may be, as well.
BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA – JULY 13:
Shortly after former President Donald Trump took the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, at 6 p.m., several loud pops could be heard, and Trump was whisked off the stage.
Multiple reports suggested the noises were gunshots, and video from the incident appeared to show Trump reacting to something hitting his ear.
The event was to be his final campaign rally before he formally accepts the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination at next week’s Republican National Convention.
“The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi posted on social media.
Meryl Kornfield with Washington Post just tweeted that she heard this information directly from Butler county DA. The tweet is linked up thread, but here:Do you have a source for that. I believe you, but stuff is moving so quickly
Lol, I wondered the same - was he wearing slip ons?Yes, I heard that, too. Stupid question but I can't help wondering if he somehow kicked off his shoes when he jumped down or took them off to be comfortable while talking. I know this doesn't matter but I still wonder.
No way. Metal detectors everywhere. Shooter was on a building adjacent to the rally. It would be easier to get a small handgun in.
The local district attorney, Richard Goldringer, told the Washington Post that one member of the audience at the rally “was killed”, and “the shooter is dead”.
“Another person is in serious condition,” Goldringer said to the Post.
This will sound silly, but if you are standing and six people close in to push you down out of harms way, the chances on someone stepping on your feet or heels are pretty good. What happens if someone steps on the heel of your shoe and you are pushed forward? Your foot comes out. My guess it was like that.Yes, I heard that, too. Gun could have been there long before the rallyNo way. Metal detectors everywhere. Shooter was on a building adjacent to the rally.
Sounded like a .22 about 100 yards away to me. No silencer. Definitely a smaller round. Not a Magnum load like a .223.Hubby taught long shooting, he said 50 yards or less distance, could be 22 the sound is distorted.
