WEST BOUNTIFUL, Utah, July 27, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The West Bountiful Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man last seen on Monday, Utah’s Pioneer Day holiday.

Page is not known to have serious health issues. He is a gun enthusiast, and frequents shooting ranges.

Police in West Bountiful are searching for John Page, who was last seen Monday at the Maverik Gas Station at 1265 W. Parrish Lane in Centerville, according to a press release.

On Thursday, Page’s family members reported him missing from his home at 731 W. 2350 North in Bountiful.

Page was last seen driving a brown 2005 Ford Explorer with Utah license plate number Y410YG.

John Darrell Page, 74, was last seen Monday, July 24, at a Maverik Gas Station located at 1265 W. Parrish Lane in Centerville, according to a press release from the West Bountiful Police Department.

The department’s assistant chief, Brandon Erekson, said Page was still missing Friday morning.

Erekson said police in Tooele County are helping his department investigate by checking areas where Page has gone target shooting in the past. Page is an avid gun enthusiast and is known to frequent local gun ranges.

Family of missing West Bountiful man continues search privately

WEST BOUNTIFUL — Less than a day after authorities announced they were suspending a search for a man who was last seen on July 24, the man’s family said they will continue searching for him privately.

“We are not giving up in recovering him and will continue to search until he is found. We want to bring him home and lay him to rest next to his beloved wife, Linda,” the family wrote in a Facebook post. “Please continue to pray that our family will be able to gain closure on our heartbreaking loss.”

"John was an expert at survival skills. We know that he would have signaled for help or made his way back to a road if he were able," the family wrote. "The family agreed to temporarily suspend the organized search efforts so that we could re-group and plan smaller family and friend search parties."

This is my sister's neighbor. He is still missing. He was my nephew's scout leader when he was nephew was younger. He was known to help those in his neighborhood whenever they were in need. The day before he went missing he was helping a woman in his neighborhood repair her sprinkler system. He is a very kind sweet man. I have been hoping and praying that his family will be able to locate him so they can have closure. They have still been conducting private searches.

WEST BOUNTIFUL — The body of a man who had been missing for nearly two weeks was found Saturday morning, Tooele police confirmed.

Officials were dispatched to an area near the Lakeside Mountains around 9:15 a.m. after a group reported finding the body of John Page, according to Tooele Police Lt. Ron Johnson.
