"Kimberly, age 28, was a mother and wife living in Sandy at the time of her death. She left her house at approximately 11:00am on the morning of January 15, 1994 telling her husband she was going to help a friend move. She was seen in the early afternoon hours at a Holiday Oil in West Jordan at 1317 W. 7800 S. Her body was discovered by the gates of Butterfield Canyon at approximately 8300 W. 13200 S. at around 6:00pm that evening. She was in the driver’s seat of her 1994 Dark green over gray Jeep Cherokee. She had been shot multiple times."
Detectives said the evidence indicates Evans went to the canyon mouth to meet someone, but they did not say who they think killed Evans.
Detectives later served a search warrant and performed gun residue tests on a Salt Lake County man who they said might have supplied Evans with drugs and taken nude pictures of her, according to a 1995 Deseret News story. Kimberly`s husband is not cooperating with LE.
