Police believe missing Richmond mom may be in danger
RICHMOND, Va. — Police have asked for help finding a missing mother who may be in danger. Katasha Johnson, 26, was last seen June 3 when she dropped her daughter off at a day care center in north Richmond, a Richmond Police spokesman said Monday morning.

“She then failed to show up for work at the Dollar General store on Airport Drive in Henrico County,” Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley said. “Detectives believe Johnson did not disappear of her own accord and she may be in danger.”

The article says that Johnson's car has been located, but they don't say where

Police find car in search for missing Richmond mom that may be in danger
"While Johnson hasn’t been seen since dropping her daughter off at daycare, police have found her car: a gold four door 2001 Volvo. They say it wasn’t damaged and it appears she was in it after she was last seen.

“We processed it and have reason to believe that yes she was in the car,” said police spokesperson Gene Lepley."

The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing woman, Katasha Johnson. Detectives believe Johnson did not disappear of her own accord and she may be in danger. Johnson, 26, of the 1300 block of Jennie Scher Road was last seen the morning of June 3, 2015 when she dropped off her daughter at a day care center on the city’s north side. She then failed to show up for work.

Johnson is a black female, five feet one inch tall, 120 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. On her right arm is a tattoo: MYA. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and tan slacks. Her personal vehicle; a gold-colored, four-door 2001 Volvo, has been located.

Anyone with information about Katasha Johnson’s disappearance is asked to call Major Crimes Detective William Brereton at (804) 317-3889 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.

Has anyone done a facebook search of Katasha? If she's friends with that woman who was pulled over, we may be getting somewhere....

I have searched for both women and came up empty.

RICHMOND, Va. – The remains found in bags last week at a Richmond junkyard have been confirmed as Katasha Johnson.
Johnson was last seen June 3 when she dropped her daughter off at a day care center in north Richmond. Over a week later her remains were found in a construction area off Jennie Scher.

The remains were discovered in multiple bags as workers cleared brush at the site.

The site is less than half a mile away from Johnson’s apartment.

Such a beautiful young mother, gone too soon...probably by the hands of a man who was supposed to love her.

And worrying that the cadaver dogs that had been out the day before had missed them, unless they were put there after the search?

RIP Katasha.

I tell you, there's something bad in the water in VA right now. Three bodies have been found dismembered in the last month? And so many more found deceased, missing. (not connected, but it's just awful)

3 dismembered bodies here in Virginia? Who were the other 2?

David L. Rios, who Durham said shared a home with Katasha Johnson in the city’s East End, has been named a person of interest in Johnson’s death.

“He has been cooperating with the lead investigator in this case,” Durham said of Rios. “The case is ongoing. We’re trying to build that case against him.”

Rios, 38, has been held at the Richmond Justice Center since he was arrested June 8 and charged with three counts of assaulting a juvenile during March, April and May, according to warrants on file in Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

Rios has a significant criminal history dating to at least 1994 that includes drug, firearm, robbery and malicious wounding convictions in Richmond and Chesterfield, according to Virginia Department of Corrections records.
