arias wants to know what Travis' family members and friends etc are going to say in their impact statements is my take:twocents:

seems like they should have a pretty good idea what the family is going to say......i suppose they want certain things off limits? IMO, they should be able to say whatever is in their hearts. they've waited long enough for that opportunity, heaven knows.

 That'd put a hitch in her git-along.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I just laughed audibly when I read this....my secretary peeked her head into my office and I had to tell her that my ummm....legal brief was hilarious....

Help! Legal Eagles?

It means that the defense wants to know what Travis's family is going to say at the sentencing hearing.

I barely made it 10 years total between TWO marriages. :dunno: Perhaps "the one" is out there somewhere.

Don't feel bad! I've got 34 years of marriage under my belt...'course, that's divided up between three husbands. (Yeah, I know.) But mr. dood and I will be celebrating 17 years this Friday, so here's my tip (learn from my mistakes, please): Marry someone you are on the same page with. If you and your future spouse have radically different "game plans," it does not bode well for future happiness. (Sadly, in my case, I didn't find this out until after "I do's" with both Husband 1 and Husband 2.)

And make sure you can laugh together! HUMOR is soooooo important.

Hang in there! Your soul mate will turn up when you least expect it. I found mine when I wandered into the store for a loaf of bread and ended up with the baker!
:heartbeat::heartbeat::heartbeat:

And is there a reason why Jodi didn't try and kill all her other boyfriends? Why just Travis?

I've never understood that.

My theory is she didn't want the other boyfriends anymore. She did want Travis. Plus he knew something incriminating about her that she didn't want others to know about.

arias wants to know what Travis' family members and friends etc are going to say in their impact statements is my take:twocents:

That's my take too, and how deplorable that is. Is it even allowable?

Yup. She panicked, and was running out of time because the roommate was due back by 8pm I believe. During her haste clean-up the camera got tangled in the bloody towels.
She did not have much time to plan out if the camera was found, because in her mind the photos are deleted and the camera bleached-out.
Did you see her face when Flores said they recovered pics which puts her at Travis' on Jun4? :scared:
She failed miserably, and she even admitted she knew they'd be onto her.

She may have planned to take the sheets and the camera with her, I'm guessing that it being that close proximity to the killing, and on the floor, it probably got alot of blood on it. (The camera at least, i'm sure the sheets had some traces of her dna lol)

Maybe that fog wasn't so thick and planned to take the sheets and the camera with her, but didn't want obviously bloodied items laying around in the car for a long drive. Didn't the room make come home that day, later that evening? She was probably still in the midst of the clean up job and had to quietly leave, just my guess

Good question.

Many observers have weighed in on this seeming puzzle.

*JA was up for over 36 hours and had driven all night in order to get to Mesa after departing Pasadena at around 9PM. Hence she needed to sleep!!! She could not have shot him upon arrival then slept nor could she have decamped immediately after being awake so long.
* Need for sleep takes her to 12Noon or 1 PM. Now she needs to sort out the lay of the land. Who was in the house? When would roommates be back in the house? Was there any activity outside the house?
* A gunshot makes a lot of noise that could be heard.
*It is likely JA had her weapons concealed in the purse or backpack.
* She needed TA in vulnerable position AND she needed access to the weapons.
*The idea of a clean kill in the shower is a good one. In this position she could clean him and her up at the same time. A murder in TA bed or bedroom would have been messy and bloody.
*JA planned for a quick clean kill. The fact that TA did not die quickly wrecked her initial plans and caused complications.
*It is possible that JA dressed and then declared she was leaving in order to drive back home or to SLC. Then she performed her JA Act – reentered the bedroom dressed but this time armed.
*The Calvin Klein shower photo set was a pretty good ruse to maneuver TA into a vulnerable position.
*It is a persistent mystery why she did not put a bullet squarely between his eyes or through the temple to kill him instantly.
*JA wanted the up close and personal murder. Knife him to death while watching him squirm in pain.
* The window of opportunity for JA presented itself between 1PM and 6PM. It is possible as many observers speculate that JA had allowed for TA change of heart hence she had a Plan A or Plan B in mind. The 1PM to 4PM sex and negotiations turned out poorly for JA.
* JA needed 2 primary things to execute this crime 1) lethal weapons in place 2) TA in a vulnerable clean kill position. Those 2 elements came together around 5PM on June 4, 2008.

These are all great reasons and a big thank you for taking the time to list them all. I believe the reason is simpler - the roommates were home and she had to wait until she was absolutely sure that nobody was home to hear the murder. I am also of the group who thinks she wanted one last romp with Travis so she was the last person he would be with (her crazy mind.)

I am going to upset some people, but if this jury comes back with anything less than M1 than the system needs to be changed. Do we even know what type of people we are dealing with on that jury???

In the future all jurors need to be fingerprinted, background checks need to be done, and an MMPI needs to be performed.

Absolutely, at bare minimum there needs to be a threshold for critical thinking and comprehension. What's the point of spending millions of dollars and having highly educated professionals present something to a bunch of dullards?

The sheets were found in the dryer, which leads me to believe they were put in the washer before the shower pics were taken. It would have been too risky for Jodi to stick around long enough for the sheets to complete the wash cycle and then start a second load of wash. If she didn't strip the bed until after the murder, then I think she would have put everything in one big load. The camera was found in the washing machine with a towel, t-shirt, Travis's undergarments, socks, etc. Also, if she had planned to take the camera, why waste precious time deleting any photos at all? She thought that deleting the pics and running it through a wash cycle with bleach would destroy the camera and the memory card. Thankfully she was wrong about the card.

Since I am glued to the Benghazi Hearing going on today....I am pretty sure there will be a verdict at some point during the day. Sort of like when you wash your car or water your lawn then all of a sudden a pouring rain pops up!

I'm glued to the Benghazi hearing as well.

I saw these photos and thought wistfully that if Travis had married Deanna they would probably be happy raising babies right now. In these photos he looked so happy, in the photos of he and Jodi he looks miserable.

Jurors not in grrrrrrr! Where did I get 3/5? I swear I heard that. Hubby heard it also but was watching me. Using Navy for those that have trouble seeing......

Wish he had said more about that too...

His roommate Zach was home - guns are loud and attract attention, knives don't. Also, you'd have to believe her story if you think he knew she was coming, let her in, kissed her 3 times gently, the sexual deviant that he is, and then went to sleep. :banghead:

So many smoke screens to work through in this case.

The more I think about it, the more I come to believe that JA waited until Travis's roommates were gone. If she came with the intent to kill, which I believe that she did, she would not want anyone to possibly know that she was there in Mesa. So for as long as there were roommates in the house, she couldn't let Travis know given the risk of him telling someone. While JA says that she and Travis went to sleep around 4:30 to 5 in the morning, he told his roommate that morning that he barely got 45 minutes sleep that night.

When Chris Hughes texted him around noon to confirm the conference call for that night, Travis did not indicate anything about JA being there. On the radio interview this past Sunday, Chris said that JA had emailed Travis after that big text exchange on 5/26 that she was going to talk to a lawyer and also tried to clear herself of aggressive actions, such as slashing his tires. Travis had shown that angry text to Josh Billings on 5/27 and Josh asked Travis if he was afraid of what JA might do after reading it. My point is that Travis was letting people know what was going on between him and JA; if he was free to communicate, it would make sense to let Chris know that JA was there and "how do I get rid of her..." or something like that.

My mind has been leaning towards JA not making her presence known until Travis's roommates had left and once there, she took over the situation with force, namely the gun. Neither Travis nor JA look engaged in the pictures of their "sexual interlude" that day and Travis is flaccid in the one picture of his genitals. He'd called her a dildo with a heartbeat and this may have been an act of revenge to further humiliate him, a way of flaunting that remark.

There are only two people who knew the truth of what transpired that day. One of them is now dead and the other is a pathological liar. We will never know with certainty what events transpired that day; we can only be certain of the outcome, and that was Travis Alexander was brutally slaughtered.

I just emailed HLN about him.....he is AWFUL...why in the world is HLM having him on.....that is just scraping the bottom of the barrel. Thank goodness David Otunga is on to counter his ridiculous statements

Even Jean C seemed shocked by him! AND BY THE WAY HOW DID JEAN C GET FROM CLEVELAND TO PHOENIX IN 5 MINUTES?? She was first on CNN next to the lady in the black framed glasses talking about Amanda Berry and above them it said "Cleveland." THEN, she shows up 5 MINUTES LATER and underneath her it says "Phoenix live." WTF????

hello sleuthers :seeya: reading along and enjoying the ride as usual....

could someone please post the link for hln computer streaming? i will need it later when cooking dinner for these people that call me mom for some reason :floorlaugh:

thanks all........justice today i hope !

Imagine? I can just picture her sitting on the couch all done-up offering fresh baked chocolate chip cookies to Travis' friends. :floorlaugh:

Elle
Lol and she knew how to make cookies

Hi guys!
I'm wearing blue today!
When I'm feeling irrational, I start getting depressed that they jury hasn't come back with M1 already, but when I'm feeling rational I realize that there are SO many documents to read, pics to look at, etc. Especially after the DT tried to be shady by only showing a line or two of a document to make TA look bad. I bet the jury wants to review every line of every document now.
Still hoping for justice soon!

BBM: Wow...I didn't even realize that I was until you said that. I grabbed a light blue shirt and navy linen pants out of my bag this morning.....not even thinking. Hell my birkenstocks are even Navy blue!

Help! Legal Eagles?

what you quoted is just the disclaimer that it's not the court's fault if you file something electronically and it doesn't go through properly.

What was posted earlier, the defendants Motion for Discovery of Victim Impact Statements menas the defense wants to see what those statements are going to be.

That sort of befuddles me, is there a requirement that a victim turn in a written statement and stick to it? I probably would make notes for a few days before and speak from my heart, not from a script.

I don't see where the defense is entitled at all to go inside the emotional state of Jodi's victims. That's just wrong.

The Mormon church is a large organisation. I wonder if they stepped up to assist financially since he lived and attended church locally. I'm not putting them down but I'm just curious because there wouldn't be a need for us raising money for them. Many of us donated and there were many benefactors.
I feel blessed to have been able. To help but I'm wondering if the church judged travis and decided not to help the Alexander family. Moo
