Her behavior on the stand was simply bizarre. She really lives the fantasy that men are out to get her. I have no idea what led her down this irrational path, but it's just unbelievable. The idea of someone so unprofessional and behind the times is condescending to JM is insane.

I think she is more 'insane' than Arias. Arias is evil, what's her excuse?

Beth is saying she interviewed Travis' roommate, Tyler in 2011, and he spoke to her about what she thinks is the nasty e-mail we heard from Travis to Arias yesterday.
She believes the reason Travis was so mad was because Arias had hacked into is e-mail or some other kind of media.
This is the one Tyler asked of Travis, 'Wow, are you sure you want to sent that?".

My poor husband let me pose him in the shower to get angles right, let me drag him down our tile hallway wet, even let me drag him over the elevated part of the shower to see if it was possible. .

Seriously? You really did that? :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: I was laughing so much I had tears rolling down my face. If this isn't true, I don't want to know.

You do have the set up for the perfect murder now btw. I was just seeing what JA did. :what:

Maybe someone with experience can answer this for me.

1) First date - everything is wonderful
2) Battered woman is isolated and abused

Here's what I don't get. Somewhere between #1 and #3, BEFORE this person is a victim, why not leave? I agree by the time they get to the very end, they are too involved and enmeshed to have the will to leave. But SOMEWHERE between there, when they notice things aren't going good, why not leave THEN?
In other words - where is the point of no return? Why not leave at the first hint of trouble?

Great questions. First off let me say that obviously you are a very emotionally/spiritually healthy person.

Those of us who can answer this question (with some shame might I add) will likely all concur that at the time we were in these abusive relationships, we were *not* healthy, not spiritually fit. And many of us either were active substance abuses or recovering substance abuses as an emotional escape, like myself, which complicates the situation and prolongs the denial of the severity of things.

I can't speak for everyone but I can list a grocery list of symptoms that made me a prime candidate:

-Traumatic childhood - divorced parents - abandonned by a father (hence abandonned by a man)
-Chaos was my "comfort zone" because that was the environment in which my childhood was molded
-turned to alcohol for escape to avoid feeling "feelings..emotions" ie, it hurt to feel.
-insecurity out the wazoo, often a product of our own divorce, not just our parents's
-lack of self-love
-lack of proper counseling
-lack of training on how to properly grieve. Grieve the loss of family (when parents divorce), loss of loved ones or former spouses, loss of children, innocence etc and then learn to move to closure (this is more important than I first understood)

When I started counseling, we started unraveling all those nooses and I was able to break free of the bonds. But honestly I don't know how any vulnerable woman with the traits i listed above, in the hands of a very gifted manipulator, ever finds the confidence to leave without a great counselor.

When we are spiritually sick, we lack the inner voice that you are gifted with. We may see the lips moving (the red flags), but the voice is on mute. Only through a new set of "glasses" can we see the world outside our warped perception and take those baby steps to recovery.

The first very very hard step is to learn to be validated as a human WITHOUT being validated by a man. The rest follows... When we become healthy and when we don't NEED a man, that's when we're ready to actually be open to attracting a HEALTHY undamaged man.

Just want to say I found it amusing in a horrified kind of way when JW had ALv on the stand. LOLing at the absurdity of it. What was the point of having her testify if all she did was read excerpts from a journal and turn to JW for the answer.

JW would ask, would you describe this as "escalation" and ALv would say "yes, I would call it escalation."

Then JW would ask "is this part of the continuum that you described to us" and ALv would answer "yes, that's exactly it."

Did my ears deceive or did ALv also say at one point that "in this case it takes ONE to tango." Meaning that Travis was abusive all on his own and Jodi did not contribute to the dynamics at all. So was he talking to himself?!

Oh-em-gee! Someone should tell this "expert" that it does take TWO to tango, otherwise its just that hippie chick at the festival (you know the one) who dances to every song all by herself.

Okay rant over.

Good morning!

Can anybody tell me approximately where in yesterday's testimony you can hear AL saying that Travis was not a victim? I want to see the reactions on people's faces as she says that. If I have to watch the entire day again, I will jump out of a window. Thanks :)

It was when JM cross examined her. Last thirty minutes of court.

I wasn't there for the afternoon session just the morning up until the lunch break.

For that part of the trial they all looked very bored. Juror number 3 was taking notes most of the time and then only a few others took very sporadic notes.

I definitely saw at least four of the men jurors fall asleep at one time or another.

I thought the jury would be a bit more diverse in ethnicity than what it was. All white except one hispanic juror.

(I'm new to this site so if I post anything I'm not supposed please let me know.)

Coupling this with the youtube account, voicemail messages, digital account hackings, getting lost and Utah alibis, and syrupy sweet memorials she wrote to/about the deceased and her love for him, makes quite obvious her intent to cover up her perpetration of the murder and especially her careful planning and premeditation thereof.

With the electronic technology, I am curious about what the upcoming forensic expert's testimony is going to be on rebuttal. I think that hackings and possible blackmail may be behind JA's motive, not jealousy. She'd been through him playing the field for quite a while and was now living in CA again. Jealousy does not make sense to me. I think it was much deeper; flat out rejection of her in any way shape or form with the possibility of exposure to all she knew.

Those long phone calls her made to her on 6/2 must have been explosive.

If you go back and read the text of 5/10 where TA is angry with her, he talks about money and is impatient for her to pay him back. It appears that she does not have a job yet "I haven't forgotten about my obligations to you and I've been consistently checking back on my applications." If she was working when she took her trip, it could not have been for more than three weeks. We don't know what texts were exchanged with Ryan Burns between in the two weeks after 5/10, but on 5/27, ALV testifies that JA's journal mentions plans to see Ryan. The day after the "sociopath" text from TA. This trip is mentioned again on 5/30 and 6/1, where JA writes about TA guilting her about going to UT and wants her to stop by AZ. TA knows about the trip because JA told him about it in a phone conversation that day, per ALV, but there are no records of phone calls on that day.

JA did not have the money to take that trip on 6/2 and IMO there was one reason and one reason only for doing so, and that was to kill Travis with Ryan being her alibi.

The 6/1 journal entry is very long, so much so that I put that in my notes.

Contrary to what Dr. Samuels told us, these journals do contain a lot of writing that I would consider negative and most of what we are seeing is negative about Travis. So much so for the Laws of Attraction. Given her writings about being naughty and going all the way, we can also say good bye to the testimony that the journal were being kept in the Mormon tradition for posterity.

Makes me even angrier with these expert witnesses.

:steamed:

ALV wants the jury to believe that Arias' attitude towards Travis can be summed up in Alanis Morissette's song 'You owe me nothing in return' when, in fact, 'You oughta know' is closer to the truth.

Wow, Rose - do you remember that Travis mentioned that song in the phone sex secret recording by JA?

The license plate thing had me a little bit stumped. Then it hit me. Y'all probably already figured it out, but it's just now sinking in for me.

Jodi stole some license plates to escape detection. When she replaced her real ones on the car for the legit part of her trip, in haste put it on upside down.

It's not very often I get to watch the trial (more often than not I have to listen while I work :fence: ) but I did get to see some of the trial from yesterday and made a few observations of ALV's physical appearance yesterday.

Mark my words: her non-verbals are NOT getting past the jury. They're seeing this unprofessionalism and disrespect (IMO) and I do think it will reflect how they feel about her "testimony".

Wow! Very astute and so helpful to visual learners like me. More of the same please...

<modsnip> this is the gods honest truth. If Juan asked me if we could subpoena god, I would answer yes.

AMEN Sista! I agree and have thought this all along. This "diary" was re-written in that 3 week period. The original will never be found (along with the gun, and "rope" ).

I totally agree. I hadn't really thought about it all that much, but since reading some of the entries I've found online after the release of the 600 pages, I'm completely convinced that's exactly what she did. She already has what's been called hypergraphia, so it would be an easy task for her to completely make up a new journal in a relatively short period of time. She would have the original journal at her side to re-create actual events with specific dates, but adding a bunch of new entries to cover her story. However, the only quibble I have is that IF she re-wrote it, why not incorporate the phony battering stories. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here...

How interesting JusticeJunkie. Can Tyler be called in rebuttal regarding this information or would that be considered hearsay?

Just discovered this interesting tidbit on another blog. Apparently all is well between JA and her mother. No mention of JA's sister. It has to be expensive traveling back and forth - business must be good on EBay and the new restaurant....

In Session has obtained Arias' jail visitation logs for the period January 10, 2012 - March 28, 2013. Here are some of the highlights:

• Arias' mother and aunt have visited her twice weekly, sometimes more, since the trial began. Her brother, father, and a cousin have also visited her.

• In addition to her attorneys and mitigation specialist, some of the other visitors include friends, supporters, and clergy.

• With the exception of privileged visitors such as attorneys or doctors, "regular" visitors such as family and friends do not have physical contact with Arias; they speak through a glass.

• Arias is only allotted 3 x 30 minute visits per week by regular visitors.

She had 5 1/2 weeks to manufacture evidence. IIRC, some have said the rest of the shirt or perhaps the back of it, says something about Bigger Better Blog. In other words, the shirt in total reads Travis Alexander's Bigger Better Blog. The shorts, well I did some comparison on the fonts. IMO, they are not the same, but whatever, no proof where they came from, or that they even exist, she could have photo-shopped them for all we know.

ITA and am highly suspicious as well..especially the added panties..does anyone know off hand a link to the pix of the addition undies that per Jodi were given her along with the T-shirt?

TIA:)
