I don't think so. I think she was retained as a mitigation WITNESS (i.e., to testify only in the penalty phase) but later agreed to testify in the guilt phase as well.

With the computer witness coming up in rebuttal is he going to further prove that Travis had no *advertiser censored*/boys images on his computer? i think the point was made but i'm hoping that he's gives info on Jodi's computer. Maybe showing her looking up stuff like "How to murder and get away with it" or showing her hacking into Travis' computer and sending herself emails..I'm curious to as what he will bring to the table. I wonder why there isn't more info on what jodi was doing on her computer.

The license plate thing had me a little bit stumped. Then it hit me. Y'all probably already figured it out, but it's just now sinking in for me.

Jodi stole some license plates to escape detection. When she replaced her real ones on the car for the legit part of her trip, in haste put it on upside down.

Maybe. She'd probably have stolen AZ ones so she wouldn't stand out (even tho' CA plates are not all that unusual in AZ). Or maybe she left them off entirely while in Travis's neighborhood, so the neighbors wouldn't spot the CA ones. If I saw a newer, nondescript car parked in my neighborhood without plates, if I noticed at all, I wouldn't over-react -- might just think that its new plates hadn't arrived or something.

I just caught the "are you angry with me comment."

I think JM should wind her up again and then suddenly stop and say "do you feel you are being abused?" Then ask her to explain the difference between abuse and confrontation.


I am not watching this regularly. But did catch that her parents are not trying to excuse her. The people who know her the best, questioned if she was involved and are not trying to exonerate her says a lot.

Great questions. First off let me say that obviously you are a very emotionally/spiritually healthy person.

Those of us who can answer this question (with some shame might I add) will likely all concur that at the time we were in these abusive relationships, we were *not* healthy, not spiritually fit. And many of us either were active substance abuses or recovering substance abuses as an emotional escape, like myself, which complicates the situation and prolongs the denial of the severity of things.

I can't speak for everyone but I can list a grocery list of symptoms that made me a prime candidate:

-Traumatic childhood - divorced parents - abandonned by a father (hence abandonned by a man)
-Chaos was my "comfort zone" because that was the environment in which my childhood was molded
-turned to alcohol for escape to avoid feeling "feelings..emotions" ie, it hurt to feel.
-insecurity out the wazoo, often a product of our own divorce, not just our parents's
-lack of self-love
-lack of proper counseling
-lack of training on how to properly grieve. Grieve the loss of family (when parents divorce), loss of loved ones or former spouses, loss of children, innocence etc and then learn to move to closure (this is more important than I first understood)

When I started counseling, we started unraveling all those nooses and I was able to break free of the bonds. But honestly I don't know how any vulnerable woman with the traits i listed above, in the hands of a very gifted manipulator, ever finds the confidence to leave without a great counselor.

When we are spiritually sick, we lack the inner voice that you are gifted with. We may see the lips moving (the red flags), but the voice is on mute. Only through a new set of "glasses" can we see the world outside our warped perception and take those baby steps to recovery.

The first very very hard step is to learn to be validated as a human WITHOUT being validated by a man. The rest follows... When we become healthy and when we don't NEED a man, that's when we're ready to actually be open to attracting a HEALTHY undamaged man.

What an excellent and well-balanced way of explaining this! Thanks so much, and I'm sorry for what you have been through. Awesome that you're able to participate in this thread and help explain how this kind of situation can work.

thanks for that because I read the first post and thought, huh? Isn't that how it's spelled?

Little OT anecdote, I was doing a crossword and the across clue was "press." Four letters. Didn't get that one and went on. When I did the down clues I had filled in that word. I kept looking at it and was saying "eye-ron, what the hell is an eye-ron? The answer of course was "iron." Not only had I not read the word "press" in that context, because I didn't write the word it didn't register. Context sometimes makes all the difference.

This is what I think happened--My own imagination.

Jodi found out about Mimi going to Cancun. She found out because she hacked into his email. She let him know that she knew. He asked her how she knew and she made up a story about a stranger coming to her work out of the blue and telling her. Travis does not believe her. He wants proof because he just *knows* that she hacked into his email and he is livid. He knows that she has done it many times and that she is a liar like no other.

I think he finally had enough of all the months/years of dealing with the devil and finally let her know how angry he was. She was playing obtuse, passive agressive games with him and he finally hit the brick wall.

I think that is what the angry email was all about.

If anyone here has other ideas, I would love to hear them.

That theory only lends credence to me IF what I think I heard last week, that Jodi WAS on the invite to go to Cancun and then Travis uninvited her and invited Mimi. That would make sense if it took place after the invective-strewn IM from Travis that AL read in court yesterday. As of May 10th he was still friendly with her from all appearances of the phone sex recording, but something happened between May 10th and May 25th that changed all that, and it was over. I don't believe at all that he knew she was coming, but once she showed up at his door he let her in and they did what they usually do. No man is going to turn down 'free' sex. Only this time it cost him everything.

Yes, and there has been some speculation (rampant, at times) about Maria DeLaRosa and Jennifer Willmott's paralegal (they are not the same person), and whom it is, exactly, seated at the table behind KN, JW, et al and whether SHE is, in fact the Mitigation SPECIALIST, not to be confused with any Mitigation WITNESS since she's seated in the court everyday, but never on the WITNESS stand.

I wouldn't want to be the cause of any member of the DT being 'de-edified'.

Learn something new every day about Mitigation Specialists and Witnesses. So Maria and ALV would have hypothetically worked together then? And now they will have Maria and Sue Stodola?

I couldnt' agree more. I happened to start where JW was describing JA as intelligent, articulate (I think!) a photographer and .... :banghead::banghead: so I had to turn it off . Even then Nurmi was sitting with his knee on th desk. Oh and needless to say I watched JM *swoon*

I am so upset. I found out too late that they were playing the Opening Statements, so I totally missed Juan's. I really wanted to see it because you can't find it anywhere, except for an audio-only version and I think the first 15 minutes or so are not included. Darn :banghead:
