Why did the A's bring a video camera to depositions?

This may be O/T but why is it that everyone that has tried to guide the Anthony's has been steam-rolled by their outrageous behavior? They have shown no loyalty to anyone or anything. It's only a matter of time before they turn on each other.

As for the video camera....bringing it to the deposition shows how far out of control they are feeling. They are desperate and attempting to gain some sort of control. They've crossed the line...

Maybe they brought the camera so JB could later show KC the depo on his laptop when he visits her in jail. They want KC to see how loyal they are to her and that they believe in her.

Every time I see CA & GA, they make my skin craw more and more. I can't stand the thought of them. They are RIDICULOUS. JMO

I have two thoughts on why the A's would bring a video camera. The first being so they could sell the footage for profit. The second is so they can remember what they said in case they forget which version of the truth they told. Any other thoughts?

I thought I heard on one of the shows the other night that she had the camera trained on the lawyers. I could be wrong because the whole ordeal has my mind on overload...still kinda floored at what went down.
But I remember thinking when I heard that, that she did it to try to intimidate them, to try to take back control of the situation. She likes to be in control.

if you want to recall what was said, you buy an official transcript of the deposition (or download the video for free, in this case). This is some sort of belligerent thing on ca's part, to suggest the official reporter won't fairly record her testimony, just a power play.
bingo!!

Good question! I thought from the beginning that the only reason ZG's lawyers were pushing for the depositions to be videotaped was so ZG could sell the footage, otherwise how would the lawyers be paid and why would they even take her so-called "case" (whether she really has any case is arguable of course, since KC and the A family didn't say she was the ZG in question.) And, basically, what other reason could the ZG camp possibly have for insisting on videotaping the proceedings? I've been gone for a week so I have to catch up on the depositions. If the Anthonys took video of the depositions themselves I think that is great. I think it would have been either to defeat the ZG camp at their own game, i.e. sell the footage themselves to prevent the ZG camp profiting, and/or to have their own video record of the depositions for any future purpose. If I were them I think I would do the same. And I think I would have the camera straight on ZG's face the entire time, since that is what is being done to them. MOO

This is the disregarding of the rules and creating special ones for them that typifies their attitude. Depositions are often videotaped. The focus is on the witness who is testifying under oath. The lawyers are there for other purposes. The parties are entitled to be present, as it is a proceeding in their case, but they are not participating. It's as if they are present in court, watching. If Casey A's lawyers take ZG's deposition, they can follow the rules and arrange to have it recorded by people authorized to do so, for the official record.

Witnesses can become unavailable at trial for a variety of reasons, and sometimes their depositions (to the extent the rules of evidence allow it) must be introduced in place of live testimony. A video in which the jurors can see the demeanor and behavior of the witness, hear the responses instead of merely reading the written words, can be immensely helpful to the jurors, who have to decide the facts and the credibility of every witness. None of this is out of the ordinary and it really won't fly to say it is, in order to justify the A's selling the footage they took of the lawyers -- if anyone would buy it - or to justify their behavior.

About the video camera they brought to the deposition - I have been watching the footage of them leaving the room afterwards - and even leaving the building and I didn't see ANYONE carrying a video camera. Did I just miss this? Or did they leave the camera at M&M just in case they have to come back again?

Seriously, did anyone see them take the camera when they left?

In light of just hearing that they will be on Oprah, might Cindy doctor her tape of the depo to try to get sympathy?

I have empathy for the Anthony's losing their beloved granddaughter whom they loved unconditionally. They are supposed to appear on Oprah sometime in May.

Cindy brought the video camera into Morgan's in her big ole purse. She probably carried it out the same way.

I thought it could be because they were being videotaped. It is sometimes customary whenever one goes to a meeting and is being taped for documentation purposes that the other brings his and/or her own tape recorder as well so that they have their own copy of the recorded session as well. Their lawyer may have told them to do this. I have done this myself in management meetings. On the other hand, they may have wanted to have it for the reasons that you all stated as well (i.e. purposes for sale, and/or to remember what they each have stated in their own depositions). I would think that BC should have been able to have requested a copy of a videotape and/or transcript for them. JMO

The camera was placed there to try and intimidate Morgan....a power move on Cindy's part. The camera is symbolic of "I'm going to getcha".

Did they not realize it would be videotaped anyway???!!

What a freaking hoot the Anthonys are. You can't help but laugh out loud when you see them!! Maybe they should move their tape to Comedy Central!!

My first thoughts were that CA wanted to watch via laptop from the other room as GA was being deposed. And, I thought perhaps KC and JB might be watching via the government hotel conference room where they meet....JMO

Good thinking and was George wearing a shock collar - so she could shock him when he misbehaved??? I mean really...the two of them are beyond words. Poor Caylee. She may be much better off than being raised by anyone in that family.

This wasn't a private business meeting, though. It was an official proceeding of the court, governed by rules their lawyer knows or should know. An official record was made and of course they can have access to it.

The A's are constantly accusing LE of putting words in their mouths.....maybe she was going to stop that from happening? But the truth, IMO, is what most have expressed...she needs to keep her lies straight.

Why did the A's bring a video camera to depositions?

Because Cindy is Spiteful (IMO :twocents:)

Or Maybe they wanted to capture ZFG on video themselves

"Months ago Casey told her parents in a jail house conversation, Casey spoke about Gonzalez.
“I have told them many times to find a sketch artist, show me a picture, show me something and I can point her out to you,” Casey said at the time."

Casey puts the blame on LE for not showing her a picture of her own child's babysitter the now infamous Invisa-Nanny.

All true amethyst, all true. But we must think in the world according to the A's in order to answer this question......like everyone is lying, everyone is putting words in their mouths, everyone is out to get them, KC is innocent & zanny did it:crazy:

I am sorry....:waitasec: Oprah for what?
to tell us about the nanny, or to tell the truth?
no, not to tell the truth....:blushing:
-Paint a new picture for Public Appeal about the "Family".
-Paint a "Nice mommy" Picture of Casey for the public.
No...not smart enough to act civil for public appeal.

Talk about how inept the entire legal system is and how they messed up the search for Caylee,
and how they are still not doing their job. hmmmmmmm that is what they'll talk about on Oprah

As far as their unconditional love for Caylee - I'll believe it when I see at least one of them siting
on Caylee's side in the court room.
(I used to stand up for them but I am pulling away)
I sure never heard them make a plea to the public for her life, and not for her killers justice either.
I can see their hearts broken. And they are in a very hard position.
Maybe even to hard to make all clear judgments,
I do see that they want to save Casey, but I do not see it done in good faith or as unconditional love.
Because there are far too many lies going on, they are to defensive, paranoied, they blame, attack,
and the inconsistencies suggest far more then just unconditional love. JMO
I do feel sorry for them. I think they are at a point that they need to shut up and stop the insanity.
I think they need to know Enough!.....they too can get locked up.....they are not helping.
