"Police are searching a marshy area near the Alliant Energy Center on the south side of Madison for an armed man suspected of holding a missing University of Wisconsin student hostage. "
Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man in his 20s wearing dirty clothes and a hat. Police said they believe he has a gun and knife.
John Nolen Drive and Rimrock Road are closed as police search, making the commute home slow for many. The beltline is very backed up. Workers at Stark Reality and the Department of Revenue, which are in the area, are being escorted out for their safety.
Police are also searching the area behind the Sheraton Hotel. They are using a bullhorn to tell an alleged suspect to give up his weapon and come out of a grassy area behind the Sheraton, WISC-TV in Madison reported. Police are calling the area an "active crime scene."

parents speaking ...father...grateful...they look so happy...thank God...thanking everyone, naturally....she's doing well..happy to be back..she's thrilled to be home again with family and friends..Mother isn't going to speak, I guess..doctor next.

they asked about that "confined" ..they turned to a captain I think of the police dept..the usual pat answer..no info on specific circumstances.
was she abducted? same type of answer...too early to go into details..

I have had this nagging feeling since she went missing Saturday, that something else is going on here... :waitasec: :waitasec:
Why would she leave at 2:30am just 2 month after her attack. She left alone, no escort. She told no one where she was going.. :doh: Something is strange here..!! :waitasec: I hear there is a bar across the street.. Is this young women hanging out, drinking to much.. then who know what happens..!! :silenced:

pushed in to say that basically to leave them alone for now...they need time together...continuing investigation..still ongoing..believe the suspect is contained within that perimeter..will update us if that changes...

Did you speak with her after Feb assault...yes..she was pretty upset...obviously...no..didn't have any idea of who it had been... she woke up a few blocks away from where she'd been assaulted!

:dance: Good job Jubie. I have been watching the Madison station via that link. 150 LE searching, will use at least one infrared camera tonight. Some type of LE being interviewed said police are operating on the info Audrey has given them, "and if there is someone out there, they will find him." The acting police chief was asked is the community safe and he said we'll update you on that later. I don't know, something seems off but perhaps it is just the way it is being reported.

I agree...I'm not sure what to think...they're being evasive...they might have seen something that just didn't click with the whole idea of it being an abduction. Maybe she went out to meet someone that night...got into something she wished she hadn't, and didn't know how else to explain it away...made it look like she was abducted...but then...how could she do that to her family. that's the only thing...I can't see that.
Surely to goodness, she couldn't put them through that.
