[h=3]Details of Disappearance[/h] Plaisted and his wife traveled from their home in New Holstein, Wisconsin to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 16, 1971. He was scheduled to attend a business meeting, meet his daughter at noon, and then go car shopping with his wife and daughter that afternoon. His daughter was a student at Marquette University and lived in an apartment near north 14th Street and west State Street.

Plaisted did attend his business meeting at the Plankinton Building on Wisconsin Avenue. Afterwards he left to go see his daughter. He never arrived at his daughter's residence, but she found his car on the street outside her apartment building.

The vehicle was unlocked, the windows were rolled down and the keys were missing. The glove box was open and had been rifled through, but the gift Plaisted had purchased were still in the backseat. His hat was found crushed and lying in the gutter nearby. He has never been heard from again.

After Plaisted's disappearance, police discovered a $65,000 shortage in a trust fund he'd been handling. He had taken money from the trust account and used it to cover shortages in his personal bank account, but he left an IOU at the bank.

Investigators suspected he had absconded with the missing money, but it was later determined that the $65,000 had all been spent before Plaisted went missing. His family never believed he left of his own accord; they think he was murdered.

Plaisted's son suspects a former associate who had a bitter dispute with Plaisted. The man was allegedly in Milwaukee on November 16, but it hasn't been proven that he was involved in the disappearance any way.

Plaisted was an attorney at the time of his disappearance. He is a Navy veteran and has six children. He was declared legally dead in 1979. New Holstein police are investigating Plaisted's disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

Kenneth Plaisted, a lawyer from New Holstein, went missing from the Milwaukee area on November 16, 1971.

Kenneth and his wife traveled to Milwaukee on that day. Kenneth had a business meeting and planned to meet with his daughter around noon, and was supposed to pick his wife up from shopping later in the afternoon.
Plaisted had a cup of coffee in a Plankinton Building diner with a friend of his, a Milwaukee attorney, then got up and left, saying he was going to get his daughter. He never arrived at her apartment.

His daughter lived on West State Street in Milwaukee at the time. When her father didn't show at the expected time, his daughter looked out the window and saw a vehicle that looked like her fathers. The car did belong to her father, the glove box was rummaged and open, the keys were gone and Kenneth's hat was found on the curb.

If you research this case you’ll see someone refer to a Connecticut address posted in a Tampa newspaper. I’m pretty sure it’s another person with that name, as I find record of him eventually moving to Florida and dying there. Plus I find record of him while plaisted was still around.

Probably the guy who escaped jail on the same morning plaisted disappeared is what son is thinking.
Honestly, when I read "associate" I thought of another lawyer, not a client. English is not my mother tongue... sorry.
Edit: I've been reasearching and there's no info about Greg Howie. There was a 1969 class reunion and he did not attend. I found a newspaper article that involves another man in the burglary: Mark Toth; he plead guilty. I found nothing about the (likely) capture of Greg Howie... I asume he was located as Ive been unable to find him on a fugitive list.

Maybe they didn't know she was female when they tested her but: The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
and a whole lot of Virginia Does.

I really have no theory on this one. I could believe the escapee could be responsible, he might have tried to get away from it all because of his theft, etc.

The fbi had a case on this but closed it. I went searching in the fbi reading room but no luck. Someone probably hasn’t filed a FOIA on this case. I’d love to see what they found.

I believe it's D B Cooper. He is matching weight, height, age range.
There were many contradicting details from witness statements about colour of his eyes (even tough everyone keep saying dark eyes), all agreed on dark hair but some stated seemed painted. But probably more convincing for me was the witness statement about scar on right hand. Kenneth had scar too.

I can't find much about Kenneth, but he was lawyer, police said he applied for passport photo, he previously committed crime (stealing money), dissaperaed few days before Cooper hijack and he was former navy.

I would really want to know if Kenneth was smoker.

ok... no. Ken was an embezzler. The "money" he stole was just switching around accounts for his clients and other personal accounts. He was in terrible debt. Plaisted had mostly grey hair and had a family he cared about who never believed he would run away from his problems. His theft hadn't even been discovered yet and he could have fixed it at any time if he came across money by putting it back into the client accounts.

Ken disappeared right as one of his former clients, who was in jail, was released. His son always thought he was killed. They've never proved it right or wrong. It's still likely he was murdered, though. The FBI closed his case years ago.

But there was no physical money, he didn't look like the drawn picture, and there's about ten other people who were considered to be DB Cooper and he's not one of the main suspects.

I just read through the wiki. Ken didn’t work anywhere he’d be exposed to the rare metals on the tie clip. He did not look olive or Latin skinned. His face was not the right shape. He had no grudge against anybody we know about. Im interested in doing a FOIA on this case one day but if you still think it’s him, be my guest. It’d be fun to read the file.

Thank you for more details.

Yes, grey hair, I did say they thought Cooper might have painted his hair black. That would also explain why keep sunglasses on, u can imagine fake black hair with blue eyes would be very easy noticed.

I know nothing about Ken only from short info I saw and neither have interest in Cooper conspiracy.

I saw Ken photo and thought what if he "runaway" and attempted some type of new crime to gain more money.

You say he didn't commit embazllemnt, not sure if I understand, moving clients money without their approval to cover other expenses is what?

And if Ken was never suspect, that means nothing just like the suspects police had were clearly not the Cooper either 🙃

I also want to point out sketches are not always accurate, seen many many sketches where later on the convicted criminal did not look like it at all.

All that said, this was just my idea, and I hope the family gets answers one day.

He did commit embezzlement, my sentence said he was an embezzler. I agree with you. The "no" was my knee-jerk reaction and I apologize for it.
Yeah, and who knows, you could be right.

It was just suggestion. I know absolutely nothing about Ken only basis "missing people info"

I also didn't think if he or whoever is this Cooper had grudge. I just thought guy died when jumped. This is why I thought of missing people (thinking not every desperate "criminal" will share plans with family)
