[h=3]Details of Disappearance[/h] Plaisted and his wife traveled from their home in New Holstein, Wisconsin to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 16, 1971. He was scheduled to attend a business meeting, meet his daughter at noon, and then go car shopping with his wife and daughter that afternoon. His daughter was a student at Marquette University and lived in an apartment near north 14th Street and west State Street.

Plaisted did attend his business meeting at the Plankinton Building on Wisconsin Avenue. Afterwards he left to go see his daughter. He never arrived at his daughter's residence, but she found his car on the street outside her apartment building.

The vehicle was unlocked, the windows were rolled down and the keys were missing. The glove box was open and had been rifled through, but the gift Plaisted had purchased were still in the backseat. His hat was found crushed and lying in the gutter nearby. He has never been heard from again.

After Plaisted's disappearance, police discovered a $65,000 shortage in a trust fund he'd been handling. He had taken money from the trust account and used it to cover shortages in his personal bank account, but he left an IOU at the bank.

Investigators suspected he had absconded with the missing money, but it was later determined that the $65,000 had all been spent before Plaisted went missing. His family never believed he left of his own accord; they think he was murdered.

Plaisted's son suspects a former associate who had a bitter dispute with Plaisted. The man was allegedly in Milwaukee on November 16, but it hasn't been proven that he was involved in the disappearance any way.

Plaisted was an attorney at the time of his disappearance. He is a Navy veteran and has six children. He was declared legally dead in 1979. New Holstein police are investigating Plaisted's disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

Kenneth Plaisted, a lawyer from New Holstein, went missing from the Milwaukee area on November 16, 1971.

Kenneth and his wife traveled to Milwaukee on that day. Kenneth had a business meeting and planned to meet with his daughter around noon, and was supposed to pick his wife up from shopping later in the afternoon.
Plaisted had a cup of coffee in a Plankinton Building diner with a friend of his, a Milwaukee attorney, then got up and left, saying he was going to get his daughter. He never arrived at her apartment.

His daughter lived on West State Street in Milwaukee at the time. When her father didn't show at the expected time, his daughter looked out the window and saw a vehicle that looked like her fathers. The car did belong to her father, the glove box was rummaged and open, the keys were gone and Kenneth's hat was found on the curb.

If you research this case you’ll see someone refer to a Connecticut address posted in a Tampa newspaper. I’m pretty sure it’s another person with that name, as I find record of him eventually moving to Florida and dying there. Plus I find record of him while plaisted was still around.

Probably the guy who escaped jail on the same morning plaisted disappeared is what son is thinking.
Honestly, when I read "associate" I thought of another lawyer, not a client. English is not my mother tongue... sorry.
Edit: I've been reasearching and there's no info about Greg Howie. There was a 1969 class reunion and he did not attend. I found a newspaper article that involves another man in the burglary: Mark Toth; he plead guilty. I found nothing about the (likely) capture of Greg Howie... I asume he was located as Ive been unable to find him on a fugitive list.

Maybe they didn't know she was female when they tested her but: The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
and a whole lot of Virginia Does.

I really have no theory on this one. I could believe the escapee could be responsible, he might have tried to get away from it all because of his theft, etc.
