They are actively looking for Virgil Thew, suspected of killing his girlfriend, stepdaughter and another juvenile. He has been seen on trail cameras locally.

Late last night, I called in a tip/idea on where he might be. I believe he is monitoring media, so I’m not going to give details until LE has had a chance to review the idea. But I hope my tip is correct and they catch him before he hurts anyone else.

Virgil G. Thew, 47, is wanted through Wisconsin Probation and Parole and is now wanted for three counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
Statewide crime alert issued for suspect in New Lisbon, Wisconsin triple homicide

New Lisbon PD issued the alert Friday evening, saying Thew is now charged with three homicides after the bodies were discovered at a home in the 300 block of West Bridge Street at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.

The woman found dead at the home has been identified as Elizabeth Kolba. The two girls have not been identified formally at this time, but police have said they were 12 and 13 years old.

A man who lives across the street from the home says he saw the authorities main suspect — 47-year-old Virgil Thew — leave the home on a regular basis.

"He'd come out in the morning and I'd have my dog outside and he'd always wave and then to find out the stuff that went on, yeah it's, like I said, it's creepy."

another article states the two minor girls 12 and 13 were not students in the area school. Were they Kolba's? Threw's? I hate it when we don't have all the pertinent info yet. Hoping the press will release more info as to the relationships of those involved soon.

So I think enough time has passed that they hopefully checked the location I sent. It’s the cave shown in this YouTube video. The commenter that said he lived there - the previous generation of that family name would have been in school the same time as Virgil. So if they partied there, or even talked about it, he would’ve known of it from way back. It’s on private land, near where he’s been seen on trail cameras. Just in case, I also just submitted to FBI online.

FBI, US Marshal Service involved in search for man accused in New Lisbon homicides

According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 30, the father of the 13-year-old girl reported her missing. He said she had not returned to her Monroe County home the previous night and her SnapChat location was showing her at an address on West Bridge Street in New Lisbon, according to the complaint.

Officers went to the apartment Thew shared with his mother, whom he cared for, according to the complaint. Kolba, Thew's girlfriend, also lived at the apartment, according to the complaint. Thew's mother said she last saw the 13-year-old girl with a 12-year-old girl, who was Thew's stepdaughter.

Good gravy, so was his mother in the home at the time of the murders? The bodies were found behind a locked bedroom door. His poor mother must be a mess. So the 13 year old was last known with the 12 year old, and that 12 year old was Thew's stepdaughter.

So many families harmed with this act.

“At 4:23 p.m. Dec. 30, a 911 caller reported finding bodies in a bed at Thew's home on West Bridge Street, according to the complaint. Two people reported they were looking for the children and went to the home. They broke into Thew's locked bedroom and found three dead people laying in a bed. When police arrived, Thew's mother and the two people who had been looking for the children were walking out of the home.”

Eta: He had multiple locks on his bedroom door, and according to his sister, they hadn’t looked in there for the girls because he would get “extremely upset” if anyone went in there.

It sounds like it was family members of the girls who went to Thew’s house and found them. Ugh.
