Family to search for Stephanie Low, missing since October

Claudia Blake won't let her gut instincts stop her Saturday from searching for her missing daughter

[snip]

"For my sake, for my family's sake, we feel we have to search ourselves," Blake said. "I'm her mother. I have to do this for her."

Blake said she received some tips and information over the winter from people on the Internet, but deep snow prevented her from looking for her daughter. The tips were shared with police, she said.

Search for missing woman gives Stephanie Low's family peace of mind

About 15 people spread out across Rib Mountain State Park on Saturday for what ultimately was an unsuccessful search for a missing Wausau woman.

[snip]

Blake said she has at least two more places in the Wausau area where she plans to look for her daughter, but she declined to say where until she has had a chance to look for herself. Blake has shared all of her tips, some anonymous and some from "people who know people," with the police, she said.

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- The mother of missing Wausau woman, Stephanie Low, does not want her boyfriend's recent drug conviction to overshadow the fact that she hasn't been found.

Low disappeared last November.

Her boyfriend, Eric Maholmes was arrested after investigators found 28 grams of cocaine in the apartment they shared during a search for clues.

Interesting to know that Stephanie's Mom does not believe Maholmes had anything to do with her disappearance.

Sad when husbands/SO's are involved in drugs in some way and their Wives/SO's/Children are the ones who end up paying the price. :(

SO= Significant Others

The recent cases of Cord Cox & Bethany Mehall & Johnny Clarke & Lisa Straub come to mind.

Very sad all around

Wausau is actually my hometown although I don't live there anymore. Not a huge city but large enough. Unfortunately, I don't think this received even enough local attention.

I am originally from Wausau and there is a lot of belief in the area that the Antigo and Wausau cases are connected.

Families of Missing Girls Join Forces

The families of two area girls missing for months are joining forces.

Twenty-two-year-old Stephanie Low went missing in Wausau back in October. Nearly two years ago, then 15-year-old Kayla Berg went missing from Antigo.

The families have come together to form Missing Not Forgotten.

Stephanie Low's Mother Holds a Rummage Sale

Stephanie's mother Claudia Blake said she decided to have the sale because she wants someone to speak up about her daughters disappearance.

"I hope to raise enough money to make a larger amount. We have a $3,000 reward out there right now, but it hasn't brought in any information so we're aiming bigger," said Claudia Blake.

This news article makes me sad.

Strange how some cases get massive media attention which generates large sums of money for reward funds. Others struggle to come up with a few thousand dollars.

My heart goes out to Stephanie's family.

I don't think I live far from this area and I have never heard of this poor missing woman!!!! This is upsetting!!

Hunters asked to keep a lookout for clues to missing persons cases

Police are asking deer hunters to be on the lookout for clues related to two Wausau women who disappeared in recent years -- though investigators have no evidence that either of the women is dead.

Authorities continue to investigate tips in the search for Kayla Berg and Stephanie Low, but police do not think the disappearances were related.

Deer hunters will head to the woods Saturday for the opening of the nine-day gun deer season, and police want them to watch for anything that seems out of place.

So, to recap: Stephanie's bf's cousin had recently met Stephanie before she went missing, so he was questioned regarding her disappearance. He was considered cooperative and was not a suspect. However, he has now been murdered.

:sigh:

As for William's murder, Milwaukee police are still searching for suspects.

Police say investigators are still working on the Stephanie Low case, searching for any new leads. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Missing person case is 'not on a shelf'

Lt. Bill Kolb keeps a photo of Stephanie Low and her mother on his desk as a daily reminder of a case he still considers active after nearly 19 months of investigation.

Kolb is one of three Wausau Police Department detectives actively working on the case of Low, 23, who was reported missing from Wausau on Oct. 10, 2010. Police said Low was last heard from during a telephone conversation that ended abruptly.

"I look at that photo every day," Kolb said. "And I do consider this an active case."

Both men have records. IMO, the BF's cousins murder is most likely drug related. The area where he was killed is pretty rough. I'm not sure why but, the BF seems hinky to me.

New developments in search for Stephanie Low

Police say bones not tied to Low case

Wausau police investigated two cases of bones being found on Wisconsin properties Saturday and have preliminarily concluded that the bones are not human remains.
