If any of us choose to write to KC, the letter will go through the normal jail house processing. Her lawyer has absolutly nothing to do with it!!!

I'm almost tempted to take GA up on his request. However, NO mail will hurt hurt the perp more than lots of "hate" mail. Just like a small child hurts more when receiveing NO attention than when receiving negative attention.

I read on one post that possibly mail addressed to Casey at jail that the writer's of the mail could be called as Defense Witnesses when this goes to trial -- what do you think? I'm tempted to follow George's suggestion, however I sure don't want to be called as a Defense Witness.

I think that women in her age group should write her many times over the next 50 years. When they get married they should write. When they have children they should write. If they go on a particularly pleasant vacation, have a nice dinner with friends, have a really breakthrough productive day at work, watch their child graduate kindergarden, see their husband get promoted, party with friends, rearrange furniture in the new house, drive the new car, eat the perfect seafood platter, hold hands and watch the perfect sunset, shop with four generations of family, get a new dog, find the perfect perfume, make the sweet love where the fireworks made an appearance, put a bandage on the little one's ouch, etc., Casey should be informed.

She gave up her rights to do any of this when she opted to kill her daughter so she could go out. She will soon just be a prison number. she should be reminded, at least weekly, about the things she gave away when she selfishly slaughtered an innocent.

If you are in her age group, definitely write her and share your triumphs in your day to day mission to survive, live and prosper.
ITA and I think I love you! :toastred:

I abhor what Casey did. Never misunderstand that point. It makes me wild with grief if I sit and think about it for any time at all.

I was raised to believe that we all deserve forgiveness. I didn't realize how that lesson had soaked its way through me until now. I am not a particularly religious person, but it looks like I came out to be a Christian afer all. If God can forgive her - and He can - then I can.

Remember that I am in no way supporting what she did. Never, never, never would I.

Y'all can laugh at me if you like, but that service healed my heart.

Why on earth would they bother calling somebody who is not at all involved in the case, who just wrote a letter, to the witness stand?? Also, I'm hoping most who write will use an alias.

You know, I was thinking along the same lines as yourself last night. I absolutely hate what she has done but I ask myself "was it an accident" and then she freaked out maybe afraid of her Mother's response. This is very difficult for me to wrap my mind around but I want to keep George's remarks fresh in my mind "think positive and do not judge as we are not in their shoes". God is all forgiving and loves all unconditionally.

Very powerful.

No way do I laugh at you. I believe in the Christian message of the cross, confession, healing, truth, forgiveness and salvation as well. In fact, I think it is the only course anyone in this family could possibly take.

(Does anyone remember the amazing conversion of Karla Faye Tucker a few years back, who was on death row in Texas a for murder? She turned her life around in prison and eventually went to her death at peace with God. She was once on LKL and believe me, she spoke so powerfully about her faith and its power to change her heart, she had me confessing before Jesus and praising His name!!)

GENUIS!
I know your post is going to be quoted over and over, but I have to do it too, because it's just excellent.

If anyone wants to write to Casey in the hope of truly reaching her and making her feel something, this is the way to do it, IMO.

No. Wouldn't give her air if she was stuck in a jug. Nope.

Patty, I DO remember this woman - she had a similar affect on me. She's either a very good actress or she was sincere in her faith in Jesus. A lot of prisoners proclaim that they have found faith while waiting on death row, but I believe that Karla Faye Tucker is the only one that ever spoke out that I ever truly believed did. I remember the day she was put to death and was very sad, but I remembered her words - and that she was at peace with it.

Casey however...I just don't see it happening. And I honestly don't think writing letters to her is going to make her do the right thing and tell the truth.

Agree.

And I assume (don't know) that letters are reviewed before she would get them. Negatives probably hit the trash.

Trust me, Casey doesn't want to hear from me. Besides, if I sent her a letter, I'd have to be lawyering up like everyone else associated with the case, and I don't want to spend my money that way.

The answer is NO. I do wish George well, though, and I do have sympathy for him.

Instead, I'd rather make donations to TES or another charity in Caylee's name.

Which would explain why, in the jailhouse 8/14 tape, when CA says they've gotten lots of hate mail, KC chirps "well, all of mine have been positive!!" (or something to that effect); well, sure, if the jail is tossing all the nastygrams that probably would skew the results in the perp's eyes. I thought KC was lying about the preponderance of "happy mail" to make her parents feel like carp some more, but maybe she was right.

Sorry, George--have nothing to say to her that hasn't been said. I'm sure you and Cindy have asked her to tell the truth about what she did to Caylee, right?
