I hope she doesn't - it will be enough of a circus atmosphere with the three amigos - CA, GA and LA - testifying. Why waste anymore of the taxpayer's hard earned money? The sooner the jury can cut to the chase and reach their guilty verdict, the better.

I don't agree with you here at all - and just MIO - I think those three amigos will be kept on a very very tight rein by both the SA and the Defense. I don't think they will be able to express any feelings about the evidence - it's way too late for that. It will be "did you", "did you see her", "did you hear her" - and anything else quickly shut down. Like that old crime detective show with "Friday" who was famous for his "just the facts, M'am".

If the defense attempts to go with the accidental drowning she will have to testify.

I was watching Schaeffer's latest video tonight and he really emphasized that the Defense does not have to prove what did or didn't happen, they simply have to come up with reasonable doubt as a rebuttal to the evidence the SA present at trial.

Meaning, I don't think they can come up with a theory originally on their own, but need to introduce it via someone who is a witness. I can't think of anyone the SA has on their witness list who could state positively Caylee died by drowning.

So are there any ideas how Mason could introduce this theory? I think it would need to come from an expert, not someone from the family who may be theorizing.

Bottom line is that at no time during this trial, no matter who might question Casey, do I see Casey winning compassion from that Jury. Not one bit. Casey is undeserving of such.

The only possible minute amount of sympathy Casey may garner is during Penalty Phase, when the Jury realizes the wrath of life with Cindy.

Sorry I'm more of a lurker than commenter and don't have the skills for the quote thing.

I agree that Casey deserves no compassion from the jury. The idea that "Cindy made her do it" is a Casey mindset. I'm sure a lot of us had a less than perfect childhood . Some of us have shared stories about our childhood that makes Casey's look perfect. I hope this is not considered off topic but I have to say I hold Casey responsible for what happened to Caylee- not Cindy. Casey was an adult who faced putting up with Cindy's crap (and it was Cindy's house after all) - or get her lazy azz out and get a job, take care of her child and get away from Cindy . Yep she deserves no compassion at all .

Hi! I agree! :welcome:

Welcome aboard, fb.

Believe me, when I made this comment, "The only possible minute amount of sympathy Casey may garner is during Penalty Phase, when the Jury realizes the wrath of life with Cindy." - it was certainly not my intent to imply sympathy for Casey for having to live with Cindy as an excuse to murder Caylee.

What I meant was, during the Penalty Phase, which determines punishment, the Jury may give a bit of leniency and show mercy on Casey by not sentencing her to Death, but instead, LWOP.

That's about as much sympathy as Casey can expect, if that, and if I had my way, she wouldn't even be granted that much.

She deserves Death, period.

If the upcoming hearings do not make her want to plea, nothing will, IMO. She will get a taste of what the trial will be like and she is not going to like it!

If Casey survives these March hearings, it would not surprise me if she insists on telling her side of the story (lie) because she may feel she has nothing to lose.

u know the more i think about it the more i think she is going to testify. this girl has big ones. she thinks shes a celebrity and will not want to disappoint her fans and not give them the aha! moment they have been waiting for. Im sure shes convinced of the fact that if they just hear her they will believe her. Thats how she has operated her whole life. Really, at this point, what has she got to lose? Shes not gonna make that big money and be free to live on the beach with her rv if they dont get the "real" story. I think that is the aha! moment mr. baez has been speaking of. all imo!

I thought the hearing where JA went on about the duct tape and the killer looking straight into Caylee's eyes, would have made her want to change her plea...if that didn't do it, nothing will....We saw how CA ran out of the courtroom and if ICA knew that, it could have given her great pleasure seeing her mother hurt...JMHO

She'd be opening herself up for JA to have a go at her...he will rip her to shreads if she does...I'd like to see this but it would do her in and I'll bet her defense team will strongly advise against it...but ICA will take this as far as she can, like the Universal hallway...she likes to push limits...JMHO

she definitely likes to push the limits. we saw it with her lies, ga has mentioned it. If she wants to, there is nothing these lawyers will be able to say or do to convince her otherwise. The girl can not be kept quiet. as much as she wrote to those girls and spoke to the female bounty hunter. She wants to tell her story. she has had two and a half years to write it up. The defense is sinking fast and no matter the severity at which the sa comes at her she will still cry victim and will not let it really affect her. imo.

If this thread lasts until the trial - I am going to be a wreck! One day I think absolutely not, the next day I think - hey maybe she will, the next day is a no - the next day - oh sure - and so on!

Will I have a brain left by the time the trial starts? That's the real question....

How could she explain the remnants of a dead body in her car- the car that only SHE had acess to- according to her own Attorney...

if kc takes the stand she will hang herself . I personally think shes gonna lose it big time during the trial she wont be able to sit for days on end let alone weeks listening to how horrible she really is, or how wrong everyone is.

She really is dangerous, over the last couple of years following this case i look at kc as a pathetic devious selfish self indulgent article, however the reality is she killed her own daughter and if she can do that she can do anything just saying....

Well, there was that story about a dead stripper?

Hello,

I am in the minority ... I voted that Casey Anthony WILL take the stand. :dramaqueen:

Casey will be "chomping at the bit" to be in the "spotlight" ...

:star1: Casey is NOT going to let anyone else be the "STAR" of her "show" ...

Afterall in her warped, narcissistic mind, Casey "believes" she is a "celebrity" ...

Of course, Casey will want to show off her latest "Naughty Librarian Look" ... her "prison figure" ... her different hair styles ...

:cow::cow::cow:

Thanks.

Hope

I would hope that CM would bring in an unfamiliar attorney to mock cross examine
her - like Mark G did with Scott Petersen .
Even KC wont be able to endure that .

After yesterday's hearing I'm thinking she just may testify.. She seem to be having a great time with all her lawyers and gave the appearance of a director running an office.

Just looking at how KC is writing and "participating" at the hearing yesterday just shows how she is not going to let one word be said at a hearing or the trial without getting her 2 cents in! I wonder if the defense team hasn't figured out that the only way to shut her up is to give her a pen and paper. I can't even imagine what she is writing on that pad. What ever it is, it is bizarrely "confrontational" (like when someone is writing something about you and won't show you...so high school)! I don't think it will go over well with a jury. She is dying to TALK.
