I have a feeling this jury will not deliberate that long when the time comes.

So this monster took the hamper and the baby inside it, out to the woods, and buried the whole thing, by hand? Was she on meth?

So this monster took the hamper and the baby inside it, out to the woods, and buried the whole thing, by hand? Was she on meth?

Maybe she had tools hidden in the hamper?

Did both siblings testify, or just the younger of the two?

I read in another article, that I can't find right now, that DC said that Lena returned to the van with the hamper and her hands and clothing dirty and it goes without saying that she also returned without Aliayah.

Sorry to double post, but I found the article I was speaking of.

"...Lena took the two older daughters and her baby, along with the basket with Aliayah in it, to Vadis, the girl testified. There, they found a dirt road that didn’t have signs on it and Lena and the older sister went into the woods with the laundry basket, the girl testified.

They returned with the laundry basket, and Lena’s hands and the front of her shirt were dirty, the girl testified..."

FBI Special Agent Fred Aldridge now on the witness stand. Discussing initial observations of the Lunsford house. He says girls’ beds were close together, including Aliayah’s. Couldn’t imagine someone kidnapping her without disturbing her sisters.

Weston Police Chief Josh Thomas just read Lunsford’s written statement to police from Sept. 23, 2011. Lunsford said in her statement she went to go check on Aaliyah, but couldn’t find her, went looking for her on the streets.

It's day two of Lena Lunsford's trial in Lewis County. The prosecution believes they have significant holes in the original story that Lena Lunsford told police about her daughter, Aliayah's 2011 disappearance.

However, the defense is arguing that without a body, there's no actual evidence the crime took place other than witness testimony.

Sgt. Shannon Loudin was the second member of law enforcement to take the stand Tuesday. Loudin recounted the investigation and pointed out that "a lot of things just didn't add up" when it came to Lena's timeline and DOH video surveillance.

Sgt. Loudin said, during interviews with Aliayah's sisters, they appeared to be giving scripted answers and didn't show the emotion he would have expected. He described then as "appearing numb from any type of emotion."

Sgt. Loudin testified that there was a "slim chance" of police finding Aliayah's body, due to the time that had passed since the original allegation.

He said, if anything, police may find bones and hair.

Loudin recounted discrepancies, including that Lena Lunsford told police she had been looking for Aliayah around 9:30 Saturday morning, September 24. But Loudin said video surveillance shows the Lunsford van leaving their Bendale home at 9:13 and going directly out of town.

At 11:27 a.m., the Lunsford van returned to their Bendale home. At 11:31 a.m., Lunsford called 911.

[...]

Loudin interviewed two of Lunsford’s other children during the initial investigation phase, telling the court he felt the children’s stories felt rehearsed and emotionless.

[...]

But Loudin believed the information he received from DC in October 2016 might have panned out. Loudin told the court that DC and another witness, known as KC, were able to separately bring investigators to the same location where they claimed Aliayah Lunsford’s body had been left in 2011.

It was Sgt. Loudin who served the warrant for Lunsford-Conaway’s arrest in Florida in November 2016. He recalled her reaction upon seeing him.

“She said, ‘Oh my God. Did you find Aliayah? Am I in trouble?'” Loudin told the court.

But the defense took an opportunity to cross-examine Loudin, suggesting that there remains no evidence that Lena Lunsford killed Aliayah Lunsford, no evidence that — if dead — Aliayah died from a blow to the head, and that the wooden bed slat was never taken into evidence.

The jury is playing audio evidence of Lena and a FBI agent taking a drive to search for Aliayah. When the agent asked Lena if she’s seen anyone suspicious, Lena replied “No. It’s like I have tunnel vision when I look for her. I hope somebody will see her.”

Police had obtained surveillance footage from a camera on a DOH pole near Lunsford’s home on Dennison Street in Bendale. Sgt. Loudin said on September 24, the camera showed the Lunsford van leave the street on 9:13 a.m. The van isn’t seen again until 11:27 a.m. The first 911 call from Lunsford came a few minutes later.

During cross-examination, defense attorney Tom Dyer tried to cast doubt on the state’s theory that Lunsford killed Aliayah and disposed of her body.

He asserted that since a body has never been found, there is no evidence of a cause of death.

“What evidence do we have that this strike to the crown of the head was a cause of death?” Dyer asked, rhetorically.

Sgt. Loudin recalls delivering the arrest warrant to Lena Lunsford-Conaway in Florida last fall.

Loudin said upon answering the door, Lunsford said, “Oh my God. Did you find Aliayah. Am I in trouble?”

If that doesn't speak of guilt I don't know what does! I sure hope the juror's are listening very closely to every thing being said in court. jmo and imo
