Charleston Police ask for public's help in finding missing woman

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a woman missing from Charleston.

Breeanna Pugh, 26, was reported missing by her family on April 22.

Pugh is known to be seen on Charleston’s West side.

Pugh is described as 5’02” tall and is 110 pounds.

Pugh frequents the area around Washington St. W. and Lee St. W.

If you have seen her or know her whereabouts, you're urged to contact the Charleston Police Department at (304) 348-8111.

I wish I'd seen something about this before. I've probably seen half a dozen girls walking the West Side who look just like Breeanna over the past couple of weeks.

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - It's been half a year, but Breeanna Pugh's family is remaining optimistic.

Jessica Pettry Hensley is Pugh's aunt. "I'm hoping we find her alive," she said. "Hoping."

One year ago on Wednesday’s date, April 17, Breeanna “Bree” Pugh was last heard from.

On the anniversary of the 27-year old Charleston native’s disappearance, her family held a special ceremony and released balloons from the location they believe she was last at, the Washington Street West Go-Mart in Charleston.

“I am still holding onto hope,” Jessica Hensley, Pugh’s aunt said to the crowd. “I am going to let some balloons off and I am glad you guys are here so it’ll be brought up again and fresh in everybody’s minds.”

Pugh went missing April 17, 2018.
A Charleston Police Department spokesperson told MetroNews on Wednesday that Pugh remains in their system as a missing person.

The detectives on the case said there was no new information to release to the media but it was still an active and open investigation.

Hensley said she has not stopped trying to gather information on her niece. She has madeFacebooks groups with Pugh’s pictures and has tried to talk to citizens of Charleston’s West Side where she said Pugh frequently hung out.

Hensley said Pugh would always at the Go-Mart location where they released balloons and said it was the last place she might have been in 2018.

“She’s not just running around out there,” Hensley said fighting tears. “I want her to know that she’s love and she’s missed. If she can hear me, fight to try and find your way back because I am not going to stop.

“I am never going to give up hope so please keep sharing her stuff.”

Pugh is Caucasian and stands 5’3″ and weighs around 105 pounds. She has brown eyes, blonde hair, and is a mother of three.

Authorities with the Charleston PD said they believe someone knows something and encourages anyone to come forward with information.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives with the Charleston Police Department at (304) 348-6480 or report it on the Criminal Investigation Division Facebook page and can do so anonymously.

Yes, a convenience store/gas station. That particular one is about six blocks from my house and is notorious for shootings and fights.

Yeah, west side isn’t exactly known for being a very safe place at all. It’s not all bad, but seems to be where a lot of the area crime occurs.
