The whole saying in medicine and crime about hearing hoofbeats and thinking horses, not zebras... Well, in this case, it was absolutely zebras.

I hope they find the last one ok

Are these guys headed to an official public zoo / shelter / reserve or are they part of the private exotic animal trade in the US?

Not that public zoos are always responsible or private animal owners always irresponsible

This link says they were en route to an animal sanctuary.

Three of the four were captured within hours and continued on to Montana. The fourth, who is named "Shug," ran wild in the North Bend and Snoqualmie Valley areas for days. She was frequently spotted by residents and passersby.

Private citizens joined with animal control officers from Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) to make the rescue on Friday evening. RASKC said the zebra appears to be healthy despite the nearly week-long adventure in the woods.

The zebra, originally misidentified as a stallion, was rescued just before 8 p.m. in the Riverbend community south of North Bend.

Great to hear!

Welcome home, Shug!

A few years ago, a similar incident occurred in Prince George's County, Maryland (20 miles south of Washington DC), when two zebras escaped from a farm and were seen at times by motorists near a highway.

Unfortunately, that one didn't end so well for the zebras. They were shot and killed by animal control, and their demise was kept out of the news media.
