I think there's just a lot of pressure on the OCSD to find Blaze. The OCSD hasn't ruled out that he's still alive, but I think they know that the longer he isn't found the lower the odds of him returning safely.
I think this was a worrying development earlier, but I'm pretty sure OCSD has tried matching dental records of the victim to Blaze. Besides, the fire occurred two days after his disappearance. I think it's not him, fortunately.
Blaze's father seemed really careful to use the present tense this time. Maybe it's just me, but I rarely hear "is named", since the act of naming occurs in the past.
Before people freak out about homicide investigators, I think everyone should look at this:

The homicide division handles missing persons' cases.
I'd like to offer my thoughts in a similar vein to this post.
I think it's honestly quite unlikely that Blaze was murdered.
It's been a week. By this point, investigators have likely looked into every facet of Blaze's life, every friend he might have had a dispute with, and searched for any...
As far as the helicopters go (even though we're not certain that they went to the reservoir or not), I think it's likely that a body left in the reservoir a few days ago would surface around this time. Redirecting a helicopter might just be an easy way of checking.
I saw that construction project on a map. There's literally no better place to bury someone than a piece of land that won't be disturbed for the next few decades. I wonder if the police took dogs out there?
I believe that in that interview where she discusses installing monitoring software, Blaze told her that "she could always use 'Find My iPhone' to find him". I think I told my parents the same thing when they made that request. Funny.
I'm reading this more as a kid running away from the demand...
