absolutely correct, if he was under the influence it would not be wise to travel through Plano into Allen via the side roads (legacy, spring creek, park, parker), much less chance of being pulled over at 4AM on the highway. Plano police hide EVERYWHERE all down those E-West Bound roads. MOO

the west side trails are for horses, the TTPA volunteers maintain those trails for equine use - no ATVs, bikes or motorcycles you are right. I have no clue about the east side.

not really a camp-able type lake - no, I ride my horse there all the time and have never seen campers and am not aware of any campsite areas (but that is the west side of the lake) I am not familiar with the East side (which is the Wylie side)

I have been having a sinking feeling for weeks that LE needs to check lake Lavon, it's not far at all from that Kroger and between Allen and Wylie - there are 20+ miles of equine and hiking trails on the West side of the lake, multiple boat ramp access points - plenty of places to dump a body...
