But no other tracks of any kind or footprints are visible. Why?

So where possibly did tracks originate from or where did whatever made tracks go? No vehicle tracks or footprints near tracks. Just stopped. Unless something was pulled back through the same ruts but nothing else seemed to leave any impressions.

If it's rootless hair, extracting DNA from rootless hair is more difficult and time consuming. The technology is fairly new as well.and not just any forensic lab can do it.

No they will not release all information. We have a cold case here of a 21 yr old woman who was finally identified by the DNA Doe project. She was murdered in 1984 and still unsolved. Law Enforcement still holds back information for various reasons.
